    Not really a fan.

It seems unfair: I can't explain why it is that Singer can make the "ultimate" 911 and sell it for a million bucks - I've seen one or two and they're pretty incredible - yet when somebody tries to out-Ferrari Ferrari, it doesn't seem to work IMO.

Maybe it's because 911s have gone through so many variations while still being 911s over such a long history, that you can modify a 911 and it still looks like a 911, handles like a 911, etc. But drop a modified 360 motor into a widened, re-worked 355-ish shape and it becomes a frankencar from my perspective. They may have started with a 348, but there's not much 348 left - it looks like they kept the mirrors. From the front, the first thing I thought was if a 355 and Nissan 300Z had a baby.

    To each their own, though.

I think it looks pretty darn sweet. Nice proportions.

You would think they would want to make a 355 look like a 348. ;)

The split hood air vents are a real nice touch. It looks like 2 eyebrows rather than one big long chevy celebrity lookin monobrow. Why I switched the 348 hood air vent to 355 style. The plasticy-graphite drop in was just hideous.

    Pointless in my humble opinion.

A true Singer Ferrari would be a 288 GTO style on a 355 or 360 chassis with a turbocharged motor and modern electronics. That would be a thing of beauty. IMHO

355 chassis is the 348 chassis and the turbo F40 engine is fairly close relative to the 348 engine. 360 is too big overall. The selection for what they are doing at least is right. That said I dont think it is real outside a design study and photoshop so it's rather pointless I suspect.

Have to disagree on this one, on one point. Having many many high horsepower turbocharged cars, I absolutely LOVE the power, responsiveness and high rpm capability of the F355 engine. Naturally aspirated is just more rewarding -to me-.

I think the ultimate would be to keep the 355 engine and maximize weight reduction. (well, that's my goal anyway). Could you imagine a factory lightweight 355 with kevlar/carbon structure? Or as you mentioned, 288 styling, with the same. Well that's just my daydreaming but I would take that all day long over the 7.6-1 compression 288 engine.
