NEED HELP- I have Ferrari GT 456 Model 1995- Where is the Diagnose socket location for this model
It may not have one (well, not one that you would be familiar with) I assume you have a Motronics 2.7 engine management system. On the 465, there is a test plug near each ECU for a Ferrari SD-1 diagnostic scanner. On some Ferraris with the 2.7 system (e.g. the F348 and early F355's), there was a pushbutton fitted to the ECU harness which you could press in a certain way and you would get the check engine light to flash, giving a diagnostic code. Some cars weren't fitted with a button, so you had to install one yourself. I recall there is a procedure in the F355 workshop manual on how to use this pushbutton. Anyway, look around for a two-wire harness with two wires on it coming from the ECU or a pushbutton near the ECU
Robin- Affirmative, OBDII was not installed on the 456 GT and GTA until MY 97 in the US. No MY 96 456s.
All cars sold in the US after 1/1/96 have OBD-II. The socket is located under the dash to the left of the steering wheel. If your car is from Italy, it might not have the socket.
If your car was first owned/driven in Europe, it won't have an OBD2 socket. If it only has a 3 pin diagnostic port (plug), you will have to take it to a Ferrari specialist. If you can find the ECUs, see if there are any two pin plugs attached to the ECUs.
Regardless of the market, all ECUs have the ALDL connectors. Find a garage with an SD1 or SD2 with porting software. Simple, easy...

It is the goal. So you're saying there are no simple workarounds for do-it-yourselfers on 456 2.7's? There is a momentary switch attached to the ECU on some 456's, which may have diagnostic functions: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/147364844/ Other Ferraris have the wiring for the switch, but no switch. Adding one (or shorting out these wires for a specific time period) may be simpler for some folks.

Since you have a real overheat problem.... either your right hand cat is disintegrating (internally) or you have too much fuel going into your engine on the right hand bank. Inspect the rear of the RH catalytic converter. To much fuel = leaky fuel injectors, air leak after the MAF, faulty MAF, faulty O2 sensor, etc, on the right hand bank. Note that the 456 has a crossflow engine, so the applicable MAF and associated air intake will be on the left hand side of the car. What year is your car and where are you located? Do you know if your car has a Motronics 2.7 or 5.2? No one on the forum seems to know if the 456 has a diagnostic switch for the Motronic 2.7 ECU. Ferrari dealers may have a proper Ferrari SD tool for diagnosing the 2.7. Were your RH exhaust pipes also glowing?
