The switches, of course, on this series I car. Funny enough, also on RHD cars gear lever is offset to the left. In second series, some are centred, some are still offset to the left.
Looking forward to that fruit cup.

I remember when we parted out the car. It had been hit hard in the front and in those days not worth restoring, plus given that it was a right hooker made no sense to bring it back. Fast forward 30 years and it would have made a really nice car. As you can see the interior was in very nice condition.
To think we were parting out Ghiblis, Vignale Spyders, 3500's and on and on and on.

Its been 7 months since my last post so I thought I would get off my duff and add some content to this blog.
So here are some shots I took of the A6G2000 Frua spyder Janet and I owned back in the mid 80's. These photos show how it looked when we bought it. I think I paid $45,00 for it.

We re leathered this car in black with tan carpets and a new black dash. 2191 will be offered in Monterey next month by Gooding. I think I showed it at Pebble in 1988?
Note the Ghibli Spyder rolling into the trim shop in the background.
We had restored 10 of them.

I am now starting to scan my over 15,000 non digital photos I took back in the 70's 80's and 90's. It is a daunting task, but needs to be done.
I was thinking I would try to post copies of my photo index so you all can see what is in there.
Who knows I may have photos of your car. :)
    Ciao,

It looks like the first index was successfully posted and was able to be downloaded to your desk top. So here is the next one the 3500GT index. I will post them in order of production i.e.
A6 3500, Sebring, Mistral etc etc.
Enjoy the read. Let me know if you see something.

For us English speaking Neanderthals, you would get a better response if you were to say "please" in the Queens English :) Zing...
This of course is pure FGM humor aimed at my dear friend Marc in retort to his admonishing me for MY lack of manors in a previous post. Got ya Marc.
    On a more serious note:
I believed I owned the car at the time which was a fantastic original Khamsin.
I do not right now, at this moment know the vin but will have a look for you.

I found some old photos of Donald O'Conors 3500GT. He had sent it to me when I was restoring cars in the old MIE days. This would have been in late 1987.

I love the optional bumper guards fitted to the car from the factory.
I knew you were going to ask me for the serial number, but sorry I did not write it down.
It looks like we striped it and painted the car and put new wire wheels on it.
It also looks like we may have adjusted the valves and did some tuning as this cam covers look freshly painted and those cam cover nuts look new. With the radiator out I am guessing we sent that out as well. He was a great guy who loved it Maserati. He was in Seattle doing a play and invited Janet and I back stage to meet him. I have some photos of us together somewhere.

But Musso entered A6GCS/53 in GP Boavista in 1955. Which one was that, then? Thanks for any help.

Musso did not only drove #2043. He also drove other A6GCS in various events. The car in Portugal was a different car. At that time #2043 had already been sold.

Thank you for that information. Have read (guess where), that Musso used #2078 in 1954, but not in 1955.

Mr. Mandarano, I have spent the last 3 nights enjoying the photos posted, and the Maserati history in this thread. I know that it is an old post, but perhaps my comment will give it a bump, so that those who have not seen this will have an opportunity to enjoy it too.
You posted back in 2011 that you had ordered a 2002 6mt Spyder. How did you like it? Was it a worthy successor to the cars that made Maserati a household name?
    Thanks, Ed
