I had no plans on watching the race this weekend, but now it will be the only race I watch from start to finish. Should be interesting to see how this goes. Russell set a lap record (unofficial) at Hungary in the Mercedes F1 car in 2018. He's quick.

You know it’s a big deal when, as in my case, my 10 year old daughter and 6 year old son, came up to me screaming with excitement at the news! I would say the level of excitement in our household about this weekends race is off the charts!

It’s about resizing Lewis’s legacy by giving a valid point of comparison. Why talking about 2005 and the disaster Bridgestone versus Michelin? Nothing to see here..

Its impossible to resize any great champions legacy. Russell was 8 years old when Hamilton won his first race. Again, Lewis has nothing left to prove. Don't make excuses for Micheal, he was not able to when a legitimate race that year, it is what it is. He is still great.

He has a point. Schumacher was a shadow of himself with Mercedes, right? Yes he was older, bad neck etc... BUT to many that didn’t tarnish their visions of him as a GOAT. Nobody complained when he won 5 straight at Ferrari.
Lewis may not be your GOAT nor mine but doesn’t prevent him from being the best of his era. Vettel even said so.
This season Lewis didn’t miss a beat. Say russel wins, for sure it would show the car’s greatness even more but it doesn’t take away what Lewis did. I’m not a huge fan but I try to be fair;)

Yes indeed, was curious how much it might be for Williams to lose points possibly etc.....

I do agree with u too. I am saying if Russell has a good race we can’t tell Hamilton is a bad driver ;)

I expect him to make it to Q3, but not necessarily on the front row, and at least challenge for a podium position, but at least he should get some points!

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...what a peculiar, frustrating, fascinating season. Competition is all but gone with a dominant team and excruciating failures to go around. Been an ardent F1 fan since 1979, and this year marks the first time I've ever willingly turned off an F1 race before it was over. I've done it repeateldly, especially when all the peacocking starts. And yet, there are these moments that are indelible. The charred Grojean emerging from the flames is something I'll never, ever be able to forget. Then there's the unfortunate injection of politics into the sanctuary (racing) that once emphasized deeds, not words. So, this race will be another potentially odd and memorable event. I, for one, am praying that George lays waste to the field and stands on the top step. It wouldn't surprise me given the strange nature of 2020. I can't wait for this miserable season to be over, but I can't wait for this race.

I think Russell will qualify well, top 3. I think he will do even better in the race, unless he has a bad start. If he has a bad start it could all go wrong. Here is hoping for a great start!

This decade is the most misleading decade as it has seen the total dominance of two teams. Without the switch to the hybrid PU ,Vettel could be a six times or seven times world champion today. Would that seem legitimate to you knowing what we know about him with Ricciardo and Leclerc?
Only 2016 gives us some entertainment for the WDC , but After Rosberg retirement Mercedes decided to hire Bottas and to kill definitively all kind of suspense.

Biggest advise, be George Russell, don't try and be Lewis Hamilton. Let the car come to you and enjoy the ride, might be your only chance.
