Great writing, I will be doing an inspection this week, following yours and other members advise. Im located in Panama and its hard to find an experienced mechanic on this particular car. Our local dealer has mantained the car for the past 10 years and is in great shape. I am considering hiring an overseas mechanic to come see the car when possible, if I buy it, which I think I will since I love the car and it appears to be in great shape. I will post pictures tomorrow when I arrive to my office, since I can’t upload from the cellphone.

Looks nice. The center console will have to be refurbished as it has the classic sticky problem, FYI. Probably 1k to redo plus labor to remove and install. Also check the date codes on the tires if they are old you will need to factor new tires. Check the age of the battery too will probably need that as well although not very expensive

Actually the console is pretty easy to R&R. Much easier than at Testarossa, and because it is a euro car, that much eaiser. Do It youself!

    It represents beautifully.

I don’t know why the interior beige shows two shades of colors, maybe a thorough detail is required? The interior plastics can be removed and will be back to top shape.

Some good advice but a squeaky brake 90 percent of the time is the back of the metal pad moving at a very high rate against the piston and there is absolutely nothing wrong. Easily remedied for about 50 dollars a wheel. A grinding noise is something to be concerned about. I have seen 4 thousand mile Lambos and Ferraris with squeaky brakes. Technician charged about 200 bucks to do all 4 wheels. Let a good Tech do a PPI and you should be fine.

94 and Ms had the issue fixed. Everything before 94 is suspect

    @turbo-joe, here's the link to @ttforcefed's post:

And because that format of link doesn't always work for everyone if you have different page length settings, here's where it should have gone:

    Good luck with your search.

    All the best,

I own a 1993 with over 111K miles on it
It was a one owner car when I bought it in 1997 with 10k on it, I’ve owned it ever since then
I’ve done numerous PDI on 512 TR
Get it hot make sure the fans come on and cool down the car, they should not stay on!
In my opinion a low mileage car is a time bomb, but it’s your money
Since you don’t have X-ray vision you can’t look into the transaxle
2nd gear synchros can be an issue
Has the A/C been converted to 134?
If you’re buying the car to make money, buy a mutual fund instead
Bottom line is that your buying a 26 year old car that hasn’t been driven and your going to pay a premium for it being hardly used
Plan on throwing at least $15K on a good service and drive the paint off it
I know that is not what you wanted to hear
    But it what it is

I do the belts on miles
    Not years
The new belts can go the distance
Never had one give me an issue
But I drive my car not wash it and wax it like the majority of guys do
You have to ask yourself why they bought the car

I would say very 8 years ( but only when no oil and no antifreeze comes to the belts ) or 40.000 km

    Book says 45k I think
But I change them at 40 it’s an easy number for me to remember
Big thing is get good bearings from Hill Engineering
    Valves don’t move until around 60 k
