I recommend you revisit 2017&18. Hamilton trailed in the championship both years do to a fast Ferrari. He came back and won both years. This is what champions do and this is why Mercedes keeps renewing Hamilton's contract regardless what haters say. Hamilton already won the championship 2008 without the best car. Yes, the younger drivers do race each other....mostly in clean fashion....but at times they do have clashes.

Regardless, THE CAR with the team and no one pressurizing Lewis gives Lewis the reason why he is a multiple WDC. Bottas fits the bill of a number 2.
