They look great, I think most concours judges would probably miss that they were not stock...as the difference is subtle.

Took mine to local horse saddlery, was I think $25, used my oem buckles. Or as others have done a shoe repair shop.

i hear tons of ppl getting these straps done at saddlery or shoe repair stores for like $20-40 for a set and reusing their original hardware but every time I call, the quotes I'm getting are like $1-200!

Tim I got mine back about 1 week ago from a Saddle shop here in Central Fl. for $31.00 for the 2 straps (black) 458 Italia. Did specify my own hardware. Replaced the rivets with #10-16 x1" Black Trim Screws (Dormins).

Any updates on the leather straps. I purchased the tool bag strap from Ricambi but now I need the other 2. (360) I have the old straps with hardware and could ship.
    Thanks,
    Keith Darby

Any updates on availability of the reproduction straps ? (360) I have all the hardware and deteriorated straps that I could send if that would help.

    Thanks,
    Keith

How do you access behind the rivets after drilling them out? A bit confused on this. Straps on my 458 just broke, man that’s junky.

I am also wondering how to mount the new straps after having drilled out the old ones:

Just ripped one of my straps and decided to also replace them with nice new, black leather straps.

But before I get them out I’d really appreciate some Tipps on how to install them best.

Thank you very much for letting me know how you guys managed to do that!

Resurrecting this thread...any tip on how to remove the rivets? Would a metric hex tool do the job?

I used a drill bit slightly smaller than the shaft of the rivet. Drill out the center and they should come out.

If you’re talking about the pop rivets, they are available in numerous sizes at any hardware store.
If you’re talking about the rivets that hold the buckles in place, those can be installed at any shoe store.

Was talking about removing the rivers that hold the straps to the tub.

After you remove the panels inside the frunk, drill out the pop rivets with a slightly smaller drill that the rivet. You can go up one size drill if you need to. Then pull out the remainder of the rivet, from the backside, with a pair of flush dikes.
The new rivet will fill in any irregularities in the hole.

A strap just broke on my 458.

I’ll drill out the old rivets and have new straps made. Can I use pop rivets to install the new straps, so I don’t have to take out the panels in the trunk? Are the panels in the trunk easy to remove?

    Advice much appreciated.

You can find straps as noted above online. I went to a bridle (saddle shop) and had them made for me. I also removed the buckle etc from the original & had them sewn into the new straps. After removing the rivets I used self tapping screws and small washers to complete the job!

How do you attach the new straps? Is it easy to get the trunk (boot) inner panels (a tub?) out in a 458?

It just broke in my 488 - I'm lazy so I attached the broken part on top of the remaining riveted one with a short wood screw; it results in a slightly shorter strap (not noticeable) and the "repair" is hidden by the pouch.
