If you want hypocrisy you don't have to look further than Hulk. No more an impressive junior career, a much longer time in F1 with not a podium to his name yet there are endless cries of how unfair he does not have a seat and that he deserves to be in F1.....

He is driving a pink Mercedes. You need to compare him to his team mate. Even Lafiti would "rack up palmares" in that car. He's being whipped by Perez.

Perez has about twice as many GPs but no pole position.

Funny thing is nobody on here cared about Hulk while he drove in F1. It's just now that he is being touted as the next best thing. I know because I always supported him. It's just RP/Lance detractors who think Hulk got an unfair deal. Hulk had years to score something, anything. He had his chance.

Other than at the start, or on a re-start, did Lance pass anyone yesterday?

Stroll is the Bottas of racing point. The only difference is Stroll isn’t worrying about his job...

The pole is the only thing Lance has achieved on merit. Other than finish he has done little to nothing to deserve the podiums. His first podium he should have been second, but since he didn't deserve that he let Bottas pass him in the final straight.;)

Perez coming back from the very back of the grid to just behind Stroll and obviously being much faster asks to the team: “can I pass him?”
As Sky said, on the other side of the radio, silence. Ah ah ah.
Thankfully took Stroll only a couple more turns to mess it up as usual and give way

Perez 4th in WDC and Stroll 10th...51 pts difference. Meanwhile, Perez was Corona'd for 2 races, lance 1...and the race before last his engine let go with a lap to go losing a podium! He's got a win and a podium (and would've been 3!). All this whilst he's been booted out of the team. Who cares about the pole position. No points for that.

Yep. Teammate hit hard on lap 1, down to last by end of that....to then make his way through the field and eventually lead and win, that's humiliating.

That result cannot be denied. Lance has zero answer, in a consistent fashion to Perez. The most idiotic move in the driver market is the release of Perez. Cheat Point can offer nothing as a justification. If they were remotely serious about winning Lance would out and spending his trust funding elsewhere.

After 4 years in the series. Not much real improvement that is consistent. He is inconsistent such as Vettel is now.

    What utter nonsense.

The guy is getting better and better and the results show it.

Not really Andreas. Not so far.

Stroll is like a mountain range....peaks and valleys....with more valleys.

No wins and gifted podiums. He has improved as a journeyman. After 4 years even with wins and points in Mercedes we say the same for Bottas yes? Id consider Bottas one level above a 'Lance'.

Did Stroll actually execute a pass on anyone after the opening lap? He damn near lost it trying to hold off his teammate.

Other than finish the race, what did Stroll do as a race car driver that put himself on the podium? Did he make any strategic passes during the race to gain position? Did he somehow cause the complete cockup of the Merc pit crew and also the puncture in Russells tire after Russell blew past him in the final laps? The only thing different about Stroll this year is that he is in a faster car, so when these types of races occur he is further up the grid, but not by any merit with respect to racing.

Disagree. He is continuously getting better. Your valley probably refers to the 5 races with meager/no results. None of which were his fault, Covid, got torpedoed twice, mechanical DNF, broken wing. If you strike those he is doing very well.

I think he gained a lot of support from Netflix' Drive to Survive. At least a lot of, let's call them "newer" F1 fans, I know of who feel so strongly about him just watched that series and proclaim to be experts. I for one am not on that bandwagon, I think he already got way more chances than most and blew all of them (regards a win that is).
