Just got a nice email from FCA about the 2021 meet in Portland. We should probably start a thread. I'm looking forward to it, and immediately following it is the Forest Grove Concours, so I will switch to my MBCA hat...

I think it should be a really great event. And the timing should be excellent.

Why? So you can spend more on gas?

Actually, when I went down to the Brother's Collection, the gas at Costco in Vancouver was cheaper than in OR. I also found when I've been filling a Ferrari in OR, I just tell the attendant to take the nozzle out of the pump and hand it to me letting me do the filling. All have been willing to do that.

Just made my reservations at the Red Lion for the event.

    Regards, Kerry

You may not realize this, but generally if you show up with a Ferrari, most of the gas station attendants will let you pump it yourself if you want.

Excited for the event. I really want to drive PIR but don't want to ship my car from Massachusetts. Does PIR have any track cars for rental?

There is a driving school there, so yes, I'm sure they do.

I assume it's okay to post this:

The event at the Brother's Collection should be really cool.

It would be nice if people would stay and go to the Forest Grove Concours on Sunday. That's a must-see as well-- there are always some spectacular cars, and I would hope that some of the cars coming in for the FCA meet might stay and show at Forest Grove.

Anything is possible, but it would be pretty darn pathetic if it were. It's an event that is mostly outside (or can be reconfigured to be, if necessary) and of minimal Covid risk. And a majority of the population will either have had the disease or been vaccinated by then. But who knows...

I'm trying to help connect the Forest Grove Concours to the FCA to see if there is something they can do together. Any suggestions on who the Forest Grove people should connect with?

I think Eric Swenson would be the best one to contact. Lives in McMinnville- I think he was the president of the NW Ferrari Club last year. I'm pretty sure he was heading up the FCA meet. I have his number if you see this.

I just registered for FCA. I will probably take my Mercedes to Forest Grove, although I might take the 365GT as well. Already have two Mercedes that I would like to get over there, though. I did register the 365GT and 612 for the FCA concours, though.

If you love to drive - I hope you are signed up for one of the 3-day drives - if you are a track guy my recommendation is the High Desert Option - This is 3 days of intense driving at speed with no cops and no traffic through magnificent scenery. Day 2 is 475 miles on some of the most perfect roads you will ever drive. As donv says there is a driving school with rental cars. However I believe the FCA track event stipulates that only Ferrari's are permitted.

Thanks for the info. I decided to rent a Mustang and will just drive the lunchtime laps that you can sign up for. Going to do the cruise and vineyard.
To get my ya-ya's, I am thinking about Corsa Pilota.

Looks like the Forest Grove Concours has pulled the plug on the event this summer. What a Shame!! Every time I go up I-5 in Portland heading north, to where this event is taking place, it's a very sobering sight of tents, garbage and blue tarps. Covid is one thing, the sprawling decay in this part of Portland is NOT very conducive to high quality events. Hopefully this event isn't canceled.
