For those of you that have received your F8s. How has the paint condition been from the factory? Any slight corrections needed or any orange peel noticeable?

This, overall the paint on my car was nice expect for a slight spillover of black paint at one of the corners of the windshield frame.

And yes Gh, my detail guys recommended PPF over the paint as it was- no polishing.

Just about every new Ferrari that leaves the factory and have done so for the past 25 years, have a half assed paint job.

It will need a full correction to look its best. Sometimes cars coming from Zanasi are better, but factory painted cars needs some real tlc.
My Zanasi painted Lusso needed 70 hours of work. My 488 about 100. My Pista about 50. Just make the appointment with your detailer. It is what it is.

I’m assuming the Triple Layer Paint is a huge improvement?

Not necessarily. Have had both regular production paint & the triple layer paint. Both needed some 'correction'. But only if you're OCD like myself. Most buyers wouldn't care or notice.

No. My Lusso has a three layer. They are often painted at Zanasi and slightly better. But to say a huge improvement is far, far off.
On a rare occassion a car comes from Zanasi thar is done well. And while the Zanasi cars are better they still leaves a lot to be desired.
Triple layer cars done at the factory are as bad as the rest.

That is so far from the truth as can be.

They still use paints that are not water based and they couldn't paint 30 years ago either.

Look at a brand new Mazda. Great finish. It is just because they rush noth the paint process and the finishing steps.

I have yet to own an exotic that hasn’t needed this. Mclaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston, etc. they have all needed paint correction. Some more than others. My daily drives also needed it but haven’t cared enough to get those corrected. And I 100% agree you with, crazy that a brand new car needs it but it is what it is.

That is correct. Always some degree of paint correction always required for pristine look. It is apparently a common finding that Ferrari paints are usually not in great shape upon delivery.

You would think so. However, the only improvement is the actual color and layers. Apparently the paint quality with regards to luster and spiderweb/swirls is pretty bad; so I have heard and read. I will let you know when I get mine.

Sign me up. I am another bat$#!t crazy when it comes to paint quality. All cars have been corrected, "nano'ed (ceramic), and all but one with PPF because it already has a lot of rock chips. Although, thinking to touching up and applying PPF to avoid further damage.

Agreed. Let's create a CTA against Ferrari for paint and watch it go nowhere.

A friend has a TDF with a few hundred miles and the roof looks like they painted it with a toothbrush. Sad to see and cant be fixed unless you repaint it.

it's Ferrari. paint is usually suspect. Enzo used to say they are just selling the engine.

Really sad. Cant tell you how nervous i was waiting for my 488GTB. Literally had 100's of nightmares.

With the paint run imagine the dealer having to make the decision paint it before showing the owner or showing him and letting the customer to make the decision.

Frankly I don't think you can give it back ?

I am hoping that they wouldn't just fix it without disclosing it. Or if they did fix, disclose as well. I know that sometimes little scratches and dings get repaired during PDI. But if I have a 3/4 layer paint such as my Bianco Italia and they have some aftermarket repair and it wasn't disclosed and somehow I found out later, I'd be pissed. Imagine if it is an unfortunate situation for a regular paint. How much worse for 3/4 layer paint after paying a 32k premium.
