Past two weeks have seen my woodford double oaked (semper sadface), 1792 (not so semper sadface), and a bottle of buffalo trace all pour their last drop. Still have 3 more bottles of trace so that's not a concern, won't be getting another 1792 (soooooooo dry just not a personal fave), and definitely gonna snag another woodford when i hit the class six at Walter Reed again.

currently sippin on bookers, though i may pour some Horse Soldier next. :)

Just waiting for the smoker to do its thing....have my copy of Hydra by The Thrillseekers on my 1200, and figured I'd get a pano of the current situation. It *ALMOST* worked. :p

Our bourbon pecan pie was made with Noah’s Mill. You have lots of other tasty things there!

Maryland is ridiculous in that there are only a handful of distributors from whom liquor can be purchased (and of course owned in whole or part by the members of the general assembly, hence the laws around it). A lot of the bottles pictured can't be found in state or shipped here if bought on the internet. Enter the benefit of a miltary CAC, and the Walter Reed class six (base liquor store). They aren't bound by MD regulations, so they can get stuff nobody else in the state can. They're also by far and away the largest base liquor store of any installation in the state (for good reason, as anyone who's spent time at WTU can attest), so they regularly get things other bases just don't even try for (horse soldier and a lot of the BT labels for one).

So i've been fortunate enough to build up a collection over time as a result of my own personal trips to the facility. Doc appt? Stop and see whats stocked. :D

How is that one? I see it at my local honey hole but haven't ponied up the $125 to try it. Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is hard to beat at $70.

I have Basil Hayden's, Cragganmore 12, Lagavulin 16, Talisker 10, and Johnnie Walker black label on my bar. I also have 50 Cent's Branson cognac and I think it's pretty good. :)

Nice. Add an Ardbeg 10 (it’s close to the Lagavulin 16). Start sipping and enjoy!

I've been enjoying Balvenie's almost full line up, they've been my goto for the last year since I discovered the 14 caribbean cask and 15 year sherry cask, the 21 year is good, but top honors go to the 17 year port wood cask.

This year's Four Roses limited small batch came in, as well as this new $50 bourbon that is getting great reviews everywhere and may get the same demand as McKenna and Heaven Hill as a great value bourbon.

Welp, other than the Total Wine auction in Feb, whiskey season is for the most part over, so it's time to take inventory and see all the acorns this squirrel has stashed away for the lean months ahead. :)

Also, jump on this if you see it at your store ... it's likely to reach McKenna 10 Heaven Hill 7 status soon where it's amazing bourbon for the price and it becomes a pita to find:

    Mother of God that's magnificent!!

I'm just here in my corner with Eagle Rare (over Kilimanjaro) after a very busy weekend. My kingdom for the ability to release a couple folks running me ragged (but I can't, it ain't my call). So I shrug it off, continue to mentor and develop those who DO want to stay on, and wait out the other two.

I had Cragganmore 12 last night at home. Good stuff. Not drinking tonight because I enjoyed a little too much last night.

Been keeping my peepers peeled for an EC Toasted but all the locals seem to get is Barrel Proof. Not that I complain about that one of course; it's fantastic.

Sad day today, my Sazerac House pickup ER is done as of about 3 minutes ago.....but it's okay I have more. ;)

(And we'll be back in NOLA in March so I'll probably grab some more....one of these days I'll splurge on some Pappy but not quiiiiite yet)

Obviously getting any form of alcohol is bloody hard work here with only one shop in the whole country and you need a 'Pork & Booze' license to even cross the threshold plus an ability to suspend disbelief at the outrageous prices. It's a pilgrimage to the back of beyond and pure luck as to what is available on the day.....nonetheless I made the thankless quest on Saturday and managed to pick up these for Christmas.

Not tried the Woodford before so hoping it's decent.

I baulked at paying $700- for a bottle of Blue Label though... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
