They're talking about the one from the original series. The plebeian shack (to us fchatters) on the new series is CGI.
What I heard is the structures were not maintained. For one termites issues were too bad and other degraded materials. Too bad. It was a nice setup. The developer also had issues of rebuilding the tide pool but got it passed through by the local permitting/governing body. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Wow this thread really died. Is anyone still watching? There’s a Porsche 992 that they needed to blow up this season but I guess they didn’t want to destroy a good car, so they replaced it with a Boxster at the last second.
I still watch it, Perdita Weeks keeps me coming back. Story lines are getting thinner and thinner and I can usually spot the bad guy the first 10 minutes into the show. In all fairness I'm an older guy now so the show is probably geared towards a younger demographic. I still love the first season of the original Magnum series with the old school music and grainy backround narrative.
There are some camera angles where I have to wonder who is in on it or is it really accidental. Does Perdita know they are shooting down her blouse and is ok with it to get the ratings? Maybe @papou knows.
I moved on after season two, had firsthand knowledge that they were going cheap, they assume folks will just watch to see Hawaii.
Well, it finally happened tonight. Magnum and Higgins. Season finale. Not sure where it's going from here....
I usually fall asleep by 8pm, so missed the show when it was on. Did plan to watch online, as its in my cable providers on demand service. Now that's its cancelled I might not invest my time in watching four seasons. I'll just watch the original instead for probably the fourth time. Own the DVD's of the original.
Um, the original or the new? I definitely think they went a bit of a different direction in the reboot.
Well that sucks! So Thomas and Higgins finally connect—( I know, blasphemous to some!) in the last scene— and now cancelled. Wowza- Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That explains why Higgie and Magnum finally got together; we all knew that if it ever happened, the tension would be gone and the series would be over (and most of us would not watch anyway). But like others said, I still enjoyed it
I enjoyed it. Not up to the original Selleck-Hillerman exchanges, but I knew it wouldn't be. Cell phones, laptops and the Internet changed the whole dynamic. Still picked up a lot of useful tips for private investigation in Hawaii.
