I'll add two things: First, no web page will ever have that smell you get when you open a fresh Cavallino. Second, I remember what became of Road & Track without John Bond.
With respect time moves on but I feel everyone who is passionate about Ferrari has a duty to keep the history alive and Cavallino is a fantastic example of that. As much as I love a 488 Pista there is something special about reading an article about a 50's or 60's Ferrari written by someone who not only has the information but presents it in a way that makes for enjoyable reading. It would be a shame if the world of Ferrari lost Cavallino because to me its perhaps one of the last bastions of those "old days". Time does move on but to appreciate today we also need to appreciate the past.
I received my Dec/Jan issue today. I guess I will renew my subscription now. Sent from my HD1925 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Not to worry. Under the new ownership Cavallino is said to be organizing a new landmark event called the Frickin' Catalina Wine Mixer or so I heard.
Something that I haven’t seen mentioned yet is that the Director Canossa Events North America is Maria Holmann who ran the Ferrari Challenge Series for FNA.
Agree, we had interaction when I was doing the Le Belle Macchine d’Italia events and when Maria & David Seibert were running the Challenge and Historic Series.
I noticed a couple of things having just browsed through issue 246 of CAVALLINO. Firstly, there is no Lettere (Letters) section. Now, it’s possible that there were no new letters to publish, but it seems unlikely that no letters worthy of publication were received during two months between issues. Has this always interesting and informative section been eliminated? There is a ruined ad on page 71, indicating a possible copy editing lapse or printing error. I mention it only because copy editing has usually been impressively fastidious.
For the record, some of the deleted posts did not contain P&R Edit: post 86 did not contain P&R content before editing.
