430 Car shows it is in the wrong gear occassionally

    Hello Gent,

    Odd one here. The car is F1 and occassionally will show it is in 6th gear when it is really in fourth. Anyy thoughts what could be the issue. Drives great otherwise.

    I noticed mine recently showed once in neutral while in 3 or 4th gear. I chalked it up to the car having been parked outside on a really cold night, below freezing, with 100% humidity and just getting underway a few minutes earlier as it went back to normal when I stopped and took off again. My experience so far with the F430 is that any minor issue or sign like this usually turns into something more major down the road.

    usually it is the 2 sensors behind the f1 actuator. But not always.

    To get to the sensors do I need to remove the actuator?

    Sounds crazy but make sure your battery is good and fully charged..probably has nothing to do with your issue but that should always be the first thing you check...
    I have had the craziest things go wrong with my Ferraris due to a low battery charge....
