1985 Mazda RX-7 GS 70,xxx miles Located outside Denver, CO Body and interior are in great condition. Runs and drives well. All gauges and switchgear work properly. One small ding on driver’s side front quarter panel. Small indentation on roof (can only see at certain angles/lighting). Various small paint chips as expected from a car of this age. Some rock chips on front bumper. Overall, it presents extremely well. Interior is fantastic. Dash is near perfect. Door cards are good, with only light rippling on upper door leather. Compression numbers are all good. What it needs: - Brakes are serviceable, but could use replacement - Shocks are serviceable, but could use replacement - Coolant flush, and possibly new water pump (small leak) - Various oil leaks (small) - Could use a carb tune for altitude if staying in Colorado This is a fine driver as-is, or could be a great base for a restoration. I am only selling because if I start a restoration I am going all the way, and it’s way too nice a base for that. Asking $6K. Will also consider trades up/down for cars/motorcycles/watches/firearms. Questions welcome. Thank you. I had a 1980 red/black that I had to sell so that I could eat while I was in law school. Man I miss that car. I would pay a premium to get it or her twin sister. Sent from my SM-F900U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I just purchased a 1985 GSL-SE in Sunrise Red..I've wanted one of these since High School...Yours looks good..GLWS!
Drove my neighbor's white RX7 with sunroof to prom my senior year of high school. Car was more interesting than the date. She said she had strep throat and coughed as we started a movie...and she was the one who asked me! GLWS. Looks like a great car. Rotary engine I believe.
Small world and a blast from the past - me too My dad had a 1980 LS ( I think it was the anniversary edition - white with gold rims ). MDS
This was my dream car when I was 17! I remember trying to convince my dad to let me buy it but he refused due to the rotary engine. Good luck with the sale!
You should. Sometimes we need things to remind of the fire we had when we were younger. They make nice lil fart can noises too I've driven them and almost bought one, but the owner changed his mind on selling.
Not to hijack the OP's thread (by posting mine)...I agree 100%! Someone here should pick this up and have some low-cost fun! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, that's mine Just picked it up about a week ago. They're hard to find unmolested. Mine is an 1985 GSL-SE with 54,000 miles. I paid significantly more. Gle8's GS looks great. I 'd guess for less than $7,500 all in you'd have a solid, fun little ride that you didn't have to worry to death about parking at the store! The Japanese cars of this genre (RX-7, MR2, CRX, Supra) are getting harder to find in good condition.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login here is my CYM 1 of 300 rx7. Worth stupid money now and loved as much as my 355. I shared your rx7 for sale with the rx7 forums and friends. It’s a real bargain.
I agree. This price is too low. I’d buy it if I didn’t have one already. This would bring twice asking on BAT.
If it were me, I'd do any small repairs needed, have it detailed and have some really good pics taken and list it on BAT..I think you'd do well.
Shineken mine is mint. I’m original owner. Not a scratch inside and out. It is a 93 R1 CYM. They only made 300 of this version so they could race. All 300 are no option cars and all are yellow. It had a different chip then the other rx7’s. Turbos spooled up earlier. Ungoverned with a top speed of 182. My brother bought a touring version at the same time. The CYM would run off from him. It has several factory upgrades to enhance performance on the CYM that only came on the CYM. I had it appraised for insurance. The insurance company hired two different appraisals. I was hoping for a $30,000 appraisal. It was 2017 at the time. It appraised for north of $55,000. I was blown away. I really never considered that it would be worth so much.
What a car to have parked in your garage !!! What's the interior like ? I vaguely remember the last RX7's being the R1 & Touring models, but don't remember the differences. I know I wanted one and was working on my dad to upgrade his 1980 to this generation, but he wasn't going there - LOL. I was also drooling over the Nissan 300ZX TT's. For low $40's back then, you could have some pretty awesome cars … MDS
I would at the very least vacuum out the car. No offense but I don’t understand people trying to sell a car and not even taking five minutes to vacuum it out.
Image Unavailable, Please Login My interior is like new. No wear on anything. the rx7 in this ad looks great on the inside too. Maybe a little carpet work. Otherwise, it looks great too.
