I'm just guessin' here, but it looks like the lack of endplates would reduce the downforce CONSIDERABLY, especially considering the shape of the 348/355 body????

Did you use the 355 underhood bracing struts?

Also, did you have to change the two "legs2 so they fit on the 348 hood?

Car's looking great by the way!!!

lol .......... I don't know why FBB even used a wing on his 348 .......... his massive body weight should have been more than enough downforce ......... ;)

As I understand it, the wing on FBB's car was set to produce LIFT, as his ponderous heft caused his car to be over the weight limits of the tires.

General question, what do most of you think is fair price to pay for a fiberglass wing?

or an aluminum wing? What is a fair and reasonable price?

    Any and all opinions welcome.

Gentlemen...that's why any car I race is a "momentum" car. M*V baby!

FWIW any wing mounted on a decklid with no support to distribute forces into the chassis is a poser wing. A good wing will make 200+ lbs of force at 120mph and many designed with CFD make 300lbs! That is one fat person sitting on your decklid! Think about that when you choose your wings and your mounting locations.

Gurney flaps and endplates add significantly to what a generic NACA airfoil can do. If you add vortex generators on the roof you get more. Chassis rake can make a huge difference too see SAE paper 2002-01-3333. You can buy it online and it is about the C5 corvette but the principals apply. Have fun guys aero is a blast even at sub 150mph.

When we built the tube chassis long tail 935's I built a dual plane aluminum wing with aerofoil sides with offset angle...we ran non wicker-bill at LeMans but just about everywhere else a wicker-bill was installed

I did a little rework on a challenge car photo I found online. This is my ideal setup. Chassis mount wing that would mount in between the headlights and through the rear grill kind of like fingers.
