I have owned 4 of them over the years, first one a BB I bought new, others BBi. On the hunt for one last one. Love them. John
I have a 74 Red/Black w black interior #17765 and a 80 all Red w black interior w/ red Daytona strips 31785
Nope not the original delivery coloration for this car, it was red/tan. I see the boxer as more of a70's car than an 80's car and wanted to select coloration from that era, therefore we changed the exterior and interior colors during the restoration process. This is a more accurate representation of the color. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Love the Zegna wool inserts, very rare as most did not order them. Grey wool on yours to go with black? Very late car too, nice. John
John Peterson here...My '83 Boxer is all red including the rear spoiler and the air boxes, but the cooling "slats" are black. Tan leather interior and roof with black dash. Originally from Garage Francorchamps. Federalized, but not by Amerispec. I was the 2nd owner dating back to '86 with less than 6Km on the clock at that time. I've attended many FCA events for concours as well as tracking the car at LIme Rock Park, Watkins Glen x3, Mosport, Summit Point, Indy, Road America and Daytona. Eventually replaced the metric wheels and the TRX tires with 17" "Caribou-like" wheels, which look true to original and octagonal knock-offs. The current rubber includes BFG G-Force Comp 2 tires with 245/45s up front and 275/40s in the rear to keep things balanced! All full set of that modern rubber cost less than 1 replacement TRX! Replaced the stock exhaust with a Nouvalari Super Sport system a number of years ago, which is EXTREMELY LOUD, but hasn't gotten me any tickets to date! Going back to the stock exhaust, since driving solo is fine, but having to yell at my passenger on the road isn't that much fun. Have kept all of the original pieces... She is # 48255. Please add me to your list...John
Here ya go...not a full side shot, but you can see how evenly balanced the car is with those wheels and tires. Might add a short clip of the Nouvalari Super Sport exhaust, if desired... Image Unavailable, Please Login
John, I have the same wheels as you, and same tire size. Next time Im going 225 fronts. Who takes care of your car mechanicaly.
I've used RPM in Vergennes, VT since prolly '88...really the only shop close to me and about 50 miles away. Great shop and great service!!! Highly recommended! My tires are equivalent overall size and have worked very well for me. Will prolly add a short clip of the exhaust later. Be well...John
