Good entertainment, the F8 won all of the measurables, but the P car crowd is crying foul as they usually do a 1/4 mile run. Believe they gave the 2020 drivers car of the year to the lambo.
That they did. Accolades galore. And they were less than complementary of the F8. Complaints included brakes, squirrelly under hard acceleration, and overly protective nannying out of hard turns - things I posted about the 458 during my Appalachian driving trip..... https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/awesome-appalachian-adventures.632049/#post-147560718
They didn’t like the brakes on the lambo either, Pobst liked the 911’s brakes the best. I thought for sure they were gonna give it to the 911.
Interesting the Lambo won when from everything I’ve read the RWD EVO is superior in driving dynamics to the AWD. Maybe it’s really special.
no way... that was not my impression at all after I test drove it. The HP spyder was so much funner. but that automatic burps was still very annoying.
I heard it broke down and they couldn’t get a replacement in time Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
What I find interesting, besides the absence of key vehicles (already mentioned) was that all races were 1/4 mile with the exception of the final race between the F8 and the 911 TTS, which was 1/2 mile. This race was meant to favor Ferrari, as I am pretty sure that the 911 TTS would have taken the 1/4 mile, and if not it would have been extremely close. Don't get me wrong, I would love for the F8 to win them all, but just as I recognize the greatness and capabilities of all vehicles, I also recognize their limitations and handicaps, regardless of what I personally favor or like. And yes, Porsche has the best brakes todate.
It was a drag race pure and simple, so good on the F8 for having the ability to overturn the TTS's massive launch advantage.
The Performante is as capable of the EVO AWD but more compelling and engaging to drive. The EVO RWD is not as precise, nor as fast but one of the most thrilling cars currently on sale.
They never had the 765 for testing. Another magazine took the F8 out of the competition due to an engine issue which they later disagnosed as a cracked spark plug.
On a car from factory with PZero, yes. They are not all that great. The F8 for the motortrend test had Michelin Sport Cup 2 though.
On a 1/4 mile the TTS would have won easily - half mile was expected to go to the F8 - given it has 80hp more and is lighter - but what really surprised me is just how small the distance was separating the win even at the half mile. And yes the brakes - no contest there. My experience driving both these cars left me with the impression the tts would be the more invincible during everyday driving conditions - and even up a mountain pass for that matter.
