Erik, I tried to PM you, but something went wrong, too small phone and old eyes, clumsy fingers, I’ll get back when I’m at the laptop!

    cheers!

The ducati are really sex on wheels. For maybe 2.5 years (98MY 916/955big bore) I commuted from Oakland across the bay bridge to the financial district....every time you hit the start button the feel, sound, smell. Just a delight. It’s basically garage art now....so sexy.

That picture pretty much sums it up... «spare drive shaft in a bracket». Me like.

Yes, I bought a brand new Ducati in 95, it was a 900ss/sp and I loved that bike, however the 916 was and is to me the ultimate expression of Italian design and mechanical elegance and I will someday own one for garage art myself. Yes the sound of a desmodromic V twin is something to behold.

A good friend of mine has a '95 900SS in mint shape. I've known him 6 years and it's never run in that time!

Tell him it’s time to send it on down the line! I regret selling mine! Great canyon carver. Simple, oil cooled, and relatively reliable (by Italian standards)

seeing a chevy avalanche in the south of france is hilarious. just not one of those vehicles you expect to have been exported to a place with streets almost as wide as the truck.

The “jewelry” on that Manx build got silly. You can barely see the custom UMP housing I had made so I wouldn’t have to cut the glass on top of the carb (#weldPorn) Those are Porsche axles and that cage mount....pretty cool in that you can have it complete with sealed/greased CV’s, and just unbolt and put it on if you get a failure.

We had so much crap with us, all I used during the race (over 5 days and 1300 miles) was the spare throttle cable. KO2’s are almost indestructible.

At that point I had been vintage racing with my buddies for 6 years and seeing first hand the tricks (like zip-tie spare lug nuts) to each corner of the cage for when you lose one in the silt.....and the common failure points.

I feel like Taz and the regulars here have also taught me so much here — very grateful.

Early in my build I had a Manx “famous” guy in AZ build my cage....here is my vintage Centurion Bronco towing my Manx back home from the builder.

I’ve been watching the Delorean on social media, so rad. I’ve not driven one (bucket list) and in Monterey down the road from me there is a rental company with one so that’s gotta happen!

Some of the welds on your 575 exhaust are bananas
