I believe it was made by a German private party industrialist and sold as an aftermarket product. How was the condition of that black Barchetta? Paint condition?

I didn't look that closely at the car but my impression was favorable. I was more interested in the hardtop since I'm making one for the 360/430 Spider.

My first thought when approaching the black Barchetta was that it looked like the start of a custom hearse. It does look pretty good from most angles. Not much they could do about those giant roll bars. That was a silly design element. They could have made the car a lot more attractive if they just lowered them like the 360/430 Spider.

It certainly does not look like anything Pininfarina would have designed.

For me the rollbars are a no go.
So i prefer the 550 closed, as designed primary.

That Barchetta is giving off a corvette hardtop vive or is it just me?

The 550 barchetta is also terrible with the soft top - the contrast between the lowered windscreen and the roll bars has always seemed to be a design flaw for me.

How are the roll bars mounted or attached to the chassis on the car?

I'd imagine they're that height to pass roll over tests or something. However...I'd take my chances with lower bars. :D

Personally, I like the few Straman conversions that were done. An FChat member - Open Roads - had one as I recall.
