I thought I read here about a body shop in Southern California (I think) that could recess F fenders so that they could accept factory shields...T

I attended a meet last weekend where there were an abundance of Porsche’s. Oddly enough more than one owner said they thought the shields were cool. Two guys said they wish they had the option to get Porsche shields in their rides. For me, the shields are the badge of excellence so they were a must.

true which is why they’re not so important
    Unless you want to
Make sure eryone else knows you have a Ferrari, for some reason. I get that some here feel
It breaks up the elongated lines on some modern Ferrari’s. But seriously the car should be classically beutiful in and of itself, not needing badges and labels to hey look at me.

I like to do the opposite, also why grey cars are a thing, cause when you’re DRIVING you dont want to catch every eye.on the road , esp the cabanieari.

One should enjoy the car for ones self without needing others to see it.

I can see how modern rates may be different. And some modern Ferrari’s lines may to some eyes benefit from sheilds. Still seems
Like a hey look at me billboard. 458 way better imo without sheilds or arrest me red. 456 looks terrible in red and horrid with sheilds and 550 is terrible I’m red.haven’t seen the new coupe in the flesh yet but by pictures itnoosk classy enough to not need adornments

Cool. Thank you. Out of curiosity, can they go the opposite direction?

If you want to "go the other direction", it would probably be best to make an insert, painted to your car's colors and glue it into the shield indentation. That way, the next owner can decide which direction they want to go. If you want it permanent, have it filled at any body shop. You'll likely have to paint the entire fender though.
