Looking to buy a 488GTB, The actual beginning price isn’t a huge concern. Looking at two cars.
-Both at a Ferrari dealer, both similarly optioned
-both are certified , both red
    -difference......one is a 2016, 359 miles. One is a 2019, 2100 miles

So...is there an advantage to buying one versus the other?
Will there be the same depreciation, relative $ wise, when it’s sold/traded for the next F-car.
Will probably be kept for 2yrs, putting on maybe 2-4K miles before moving on to the next.
Feel free to give your choice if you were buying...and...
Thank you in advance for any advice/help.

I would go with the 2019. You get 3 more years of maintenance (even if you don't use it). And the 2016 has done a lot of sitting, which isn't good.

Agree with Paul. F cars don't like to sit - batteries, electrical gremlins, etc. 2100 miles isn't inordinate, and a nice amount for 2 year old F car...T

A newer car will have fewer bugs. Ferraris can drive you nuts. Newer is better always with ferraris

Thank you for the replies. Misquoted the prices......$234k & $258k
Should’ve mentioned....the 2016 just had a complete Ferrari service in December. I haven’t asked yet, but since they’re both CPO certified....I assume the same had to happen for the certification of the 2019

I think that is correct. Car should be inspected to qualify for the CPO.
I will caution you that there is a recent thread where an F-chatter bought a CPO'd F-car and it was not up to snuff cosmetically. So, I would give the advantage to any car that you or a trusted colleague can lay eyes on...T

    Ill bite.

    Very interesting but

    Watch this video.

I had a 488 spider. Loved it. Steep depreciation ahead.

In the future more than 3 years from now miles will dominate value for these cars more than year. The newer 2019 will still have maintenance covered and the 2016 will be done. The 458 will be overlapping 488s in value.

Point is steep depreciation will mitigate against the year effect for residual value. Look at F12s. Miles then equipment with a minimal year effect. The prices of F12 are all over the map with overlap between the year.

So if the price of a car is not the purchase price but the purchase minus the resale and they are similarly optioned, I suspect the 2016 will ultimately cost less. The only difference is rear camera I believe between the years.

Get the car you like better but if you are price sensitive, 2016 all the way.

thank you for the input/advice. I posted the same question in the model specific section to try and get a perspective from some 488 owners, and the majority agreed...get the ‘19. I was leaning towards that anyway, and after much consideration, that’s what I’ve secured. Being shipped next week, and I added pics on that discussion. Thank you again
