Yep Interesting that Ferrari put the filters on upside down , I like to fill new filters with oil but not really possible with filters up the wrong way
The filters for inverted mounting have a check valve in them, otherwise oil would drain and every startup would be with no oil pressure. BIG problem if the wrong filter is used... When installing, you fill each filter with oil, then flip over, get oil on your clothes and shoes, wait for it to stop dripping, then fit to engine.
I've always done my oil changes except for the major servicings ............ but I prefer it when Marc does it
I like doing all my oil changes too, but don't. Why? Because people that buy these cars are so fickle that they need to see service history stretching back before the car was even conceived. So I pay my local Ferrari mechanic $500 to change the oil every year.
Unfortunately all of my oil changes for the last 3 years have been done by Sal and Marc .... the joys of not hoist
My car has been serviced elsewhere during its history as well, but I like the guys at Barbs and they do a solid job. I recently had them do a full clutch rebuild and they did pull out the stops to fix a few issues that came up during that process. You get what you pay for when it comes to working on these cars. Experience does count for a fair bit when things start to go south.
I like that If you have a Porsche or Ferrari on the GC and you take your car to an auto-electrician they tell you to **** off
100% agree. I'd consider them if where I take mine closed but good to know you're having a good experience with them. Cheers.
