I agree,it's not like Ducati vet all the purchasers of their bikes as to their riding competence, and yes the same goes for car companies.
It's like you sometimes see driving ,some folk drive with their left foot hovering on and of the brake pedal, drives you nuts and can't be good. Obviously if it came off the floor with warped discs then that's another thing,I didn't read enuff to see if that was the case.
I don't know if it's warped.....all I know is it pulses at low speed. They're blaming a build up of pad material on the disc because of Ducati using metal pads against metal discs. To me, it feels like a warped disc. They've cleaned the discs so I'll see what happens. Regardless, if it's ongoing, it's unacceptable.
I had a fun day today with hotrods. We checked in on the progress of my mate's 32 Ford 3 Window body restoration. Note the perfect door shutlines. This is a historic hotrod from LA that was built in the late 50's. Almost impossible to find 100% original sheet metal cars that haven't either had the roof chopped (lowered) or major rust repairs and with original fenders. Original dash and instruments sitting on the roof. Something I learned today, the 3-windows were the only bodies not made by Ford, but rather by a coach builder called Walker, they were only available in deluxe trim and are higher quality. This car has all the original timber in the body supports and seat, all in perfect condition 90 years later. Image Unavailable, Please Login
We visited a couple of other enthusiasts, including this shed where Dad and 18 year old son were building a '28 roadster on '32 chassis (on the ground behind the hoist). Lots of interesting cars in this shed, including the FB which was bought new by Grandad and is now being driven by the 18 year old. In a car-cocoon just visible on the left, was a '28 roadster built in Sydney in the 60's and accepted for Pebble Beach last year, cancelled by Covid of course. The salmon pink car is a '53 Chev lowrider with lots of custom bodywork, all done by the owner, all in steel and to a very high standard. Look at those tail lights and think about the complexity of fabricating them. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Took Shagger over to Yungaburra to meet up with old mate and his Mog also owns one of the nicest DS 23's you'll ever see. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
