    Did he ever have any?

He obviously forgets he’s fed his dog and feeds it again, and again, and again.

Mate there are so many red herrings in there you could have a smorgasbord... I’ll just start with the first one:
“Tesla produces half of the world’s electric vehicles if you exclude China” - true but the EV share in theUS is 0.5% of the market, whereas the China EV share is 4.5% so he’s making a market projection based on the minnow producer...

Just follow the money - BP and Shell are moving to renewables. End of story.

Many times the people who write these articles have some agenda.

A few points to consider: Boiler type power plants have peak demand during the day, and much spare capacity at night. Enough spare capacity to charge up EVs at night.

EV components such as batteries and motors can be repaired/recycled. There would need to be mining to build out the infrastructure, but after that components can be recycled. Many EVs in China still use Lead batteries, which are easily recycled with the low melting point.

Tesla batteries are being used as battery storage for individual houses, with little modification. There may be no need for some houses to be hooked up to the electrical grid in the future.

Solar PV Panels work. They don't kill birds. They don't pollute. There are no "rare earths" involved in their manufacture. PV prices have dropped exponentially over the years, and continue to do so. Installed capacity has also increased exponentially, with a doubling approximately every 2 years. PV could provide all of the world's electricity in the very near future.

There is such a thing now:

Commercial airlines use around 8 million barrels/day, vs. a total consumption of 100 million barrels/day. The vast majority of oil consumption is from cars and light trucks.

IMO no matter what happens the “flag carriers” will survive.
And I’m just referring to international airlines.

On the domestic front, I think they’ll fill their boots from the second half of this year onwards.
