I often use the RS3 for taking our Labrador to the park, the boot is bigger than you think & if you want more space it has split folding rear seats making it like a wagon. We just traded my wife's 18 month old XC60 Volvo for an Audi S3 as she drove my RS3 & loved it so much she wanted a similar car & size, she takes our dog out daily & her 90 year old parents out in it weekly & doesn't struggle for room.
Ta for the heads up....bit like motor bikes now , every second year an upgrade/ new model. I miss my old Rangie so much and all that leather , I should have had the motor repaired and kept it ...but a 10k car and a 10k repair makes no sense ? Just a great car , I now know why I kept her 16 years . Image Unavailable, Please Login
You think that, and it's true, but if the A45s is anything to go by, the new one will be so much better than the old one that no one will want the old one. Not if you have the funds anyway.
Really Ian? I've never looked at the Range/Land rover markets, so I wouldn't know. I'd be surprised though.
I agree. This is one of the reasons I really don't like Merc's. Their interiors are disgusting. Everybody I personally know who owns a AMG Merc is a total knob as well, which is another reason I couldn't ever buy one. New BMW Z4 looks the ticket. No room for dogs though.
A great car is a great car regardless of the type of people that own them. Yes, I have met/seen many dubious AMG owners but you could easily say the same about Ferrari owners , this crowd excepted of course! One man’s chintzy is another man’s classy. Take the Z4 BMW. I drove one at the beginning of last year. Manual too. Most underwhelming current BMW I have driven. A true whomosexual car is there ever was one. Ugly too! Who’s wrong? Neither of us. Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one . I’m on my third Audi. Just watch for the oil consumption issues. Mind you mine is old - 9 years. Their 1.8 and 2 litre engines have bad oil consumption issues which I’m now stuck with in my manual A5 Quattro.
Well with inflation that sounds about right, what have your property rents or share portfolio gone up over the last 18 years.
The new ones also have plastic water and oil pumps, made in China no less. Not a car to keep long term.
Yeah, sure well maybe, but the fact remains that every person I know (in my small circle) that owns an AMG is a flog. I'm sure there's regular humans out there driving them, but I've yet to meet one. Personal opinion of course, but I reckon AMG's are just classless high powered pimp mobiles. Especially more recent ones.
Base model Defender 90 is 73K on-road, with a petrol turbo. The diesels have variable vane turbos which are infamous for failing, so the petrol is a better bet. I suspect you could run one for 5 years and sell it for $50K. That's great value and it's a funky ride.
