Maloo's are sold at your corner Holden dealer = nobody buys for decades and holden go bust
Holden go bust = people clamor over themselves to buy said utes

Take a look at what late model SS Commodores go for nowadays. You couldn't give them away a few years ago.

    People are just stupid.

For a car that has NO international value or interest, who TF would want to pay 1.2m for it. Must be a few boganaires out there.

Certainly not over $1m imo, just crazy, as Gizzi said NO international interest or provenance, I'd love to see what it really changes hands for & how much cash.

Nah that was the 1999 model when they were flogging the 2000 olympics on everything from cars to condoms.

The Reebok was the N13 pulsar from 1991. I came so close to getting one of those....

    Good times indeed.

We had a customer in recently with a white, VL Calais, 5L that he'd had from new. It was totally original. He reckoned he'd been offered 50k for it. I said he should have taken it.

That 3.3ltr Nissan engine was the best thing that ever went into a commodore. That engine saved Holden, at least for the proceeding 30 years.

Interesting story behind it.. In short, Holden couldn't afford to make their engines compliant with unleaded fuel.

You're right. The gold VL was for the Commonwealth games if I remember correctly, which I rarely do.

The Nissan engine was in VL's only. I had a VK Calais new with the injected 202, it was surprisingly good. GM didn't modify it for unleaded because the Buick V6 was already planned, so the Nissan was a stop-gap.
