what is the c8’s redline?
^thanks hopefully there are better wheel options for 2021. cant find the carbon fiber options on the mobile configurator. anyone know? and price?
Convertible sales are up https://carbuzz.com/news/corvette-convertible-sales-have-skyrocketed-with-new-c8?fbclid=IwAR2c5LSyfpW4oto3N7DnMYmbPRfCDYXeV-8CuLMtnvAWHpcdpiIoF7oYk8w
According to GM stats, only about 15% of 2020 models were convertibles. BUT, the Convertible was 6 months late and only in production for 3 months of the year. That would indicate that future full year sales might be closer to 30%. Given the car comes as a targa already and the convertible option is $7500, that's pretty remarkable.
The only CF option is the interior. Everything else has to be aftermarket. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2020/12/racing-sport-concepts-introduces-new-c8-corvette-aero-kit/
The interior carbon looks good and is a good deal. I wish the steering wheel had carbon but I’d imagine the Z06 will.
There is something about the C8 that really gets the public's imagination. I cannot believe the number of people (mostly men) asking me about it a stop lights. I go out for 10 minutes today and 2 people start talking to me about it. Every little trip I get someone asking me about it or commenting on it. Of course I have the top down so its easy to start a conversation than if the top were up. But still with this car I get a lot more positive comments than the other Ferrari convertibles I've owned. I think part of it is that its American and looks pretty cool plus many think that someday they could actually afford one in the future excites them. People don't ask me the price. The most common questions are: 1) How do you like it? 2) Is this the "new" Corvette? 3) Is the engine in the back? The most common comment is about how attractive it is or "Chevy really got it right this time". So far not one negative comment or snide remark (I used to get some of those with Ferrari).
just saw an orange c8. they look a lot less horrible in person than in pictures. maybe i will get the z06 when it comes out after all...
If you pick the 1LT with red seats it includes red stitching throughout and red center mark on steering wheel. Not available in other 1LT color options. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Some pictures for you of the 1LT red interior. Basically just the seats and stitching are red. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
^ thank you not sure that bright red would go w the new darker red mist tint coat paint. any pix of the darker red seats available?
If I remember correctly the Morello - darker red is only offered with the 3LT package. Here a couple of view > Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's Long Beach red which has been discontinued. Its been replaced with Red Mist which is a tintcoat, lighter in color, and more candy colored.
Some people are finally getting the new Red Mist cars. Here's some photos in sunlight and shade. Looks pretty cool to me. Cost: $1000. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If I decide to get a Z06 this is the combo I was thinking of: Red mist with grey and black interior and red seat belts. Silver wheels and silver stripes. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
someone posted on midengine corvette forum that the orange seen in pix is not seen in person. orange caused by camera artifacts. something to do with the way the camera is being “overwhelmed”?
to me, seat belts should never be seen. they should just be there, unnoticed. like a light switch on a wall. i would never have a red light switch on a white wall.
john, i didnt understand the camera thing either. have you seen it in person and do the sun highlights bring out the orange?
