long story short, I disconnected the battery switch in the front and closed the frunk. Did what I needed to do and went to go pop open the frunk and realized, wow im an idiot and I have no power for it to pop.

Is there a secret way in?

    I'm stumped. Need help.

There is. This is what I use all the time. I hardly use the electric button as it only works with the key turned to acc if I recall correctly.

Worse come to worse and if cable didn't work, you could access the battery under the footwell and run a jumper wire from ground terminal of battery to a suitable chassis ground to temporarily bypass the disconnect switch and get power to the electrics to open the trunk etc.

I was going to suggest just powering the fuse or relay for the frunk opening actuator, but then realised the fuse and the relay are in the frunk

Has anyone ever wired in a second switch for the frunk release solenoid that is always hot ie. will work even if the ignition is off? I'm envisioning a little black switch mounted just under the dash inside the driver's door. Anyone see any problems with that?

My frunk release switch works electrically with the ignition off. It is the only one that does that. The fuel door release requires the ignition to be on.

Three wires are common on the bonnet switch the S101D-N are both probably electrically hot and are common to each other. There is a ground wire on each switch and an output switch to the device powered by the button. I don't have a wiring diagram to see the exact layout, wire # terminology etc. but my best guess is that your frunk bonnet switch will activate without the ignition on based on what appears to be a duplicate input wire to that switch. In the Owners manual on my '05 F430 page 42 it states that "the trunk lid can also be opened with the ignition key off"., Best guess yours can also be opened without the key.

The switches are the same. It depends on how the actuator relays are powered.

Wiring diagram here (work in progress)

    https://www.dropbox.com/t/KNHeX38MWixnrid5

Pushing the frunk switch sends an earth to the instrument panel plug 9E (oddly), then it comes out of the instrument panel on plug 8E through a connector (10B/2A) to the coil of the frunk lid actuator relay in the frunk. The other side of the coil uses hot battery power supplied via the frunk lid actuator fuse. The actuator uses the same power as the relay coil.
Frunk lid light circuit not shown.
"1C" is the maxi-fuseblock near the battery.

The WSM wiring diagrams have a "custom" of showing the underside or back side of components, which can be confusing at times. You have to mentally reverse them.

In the case of the frunk lid, there is a dedicated relay. The fuel lid solenoid is powered by the (ignition) "key controlled devices" relay behind the RHS seat.

It does in SCUD but not the F430, which is a bit of a hassle as I usually go supermarket shopping in the F430

Good point. I suppose we should specify which cars we are talking about.

The original poster was asking about the F430 (looking at his previous posts), FiatArbarth850 was using 360 diagrams (and has a 360) so I assumed he wanted an answer for a 360, Snapshift has an F430, as does RichardCH :D

So do we have a discrepancy between the 430 Owners Manual and RichardCH's cars?

My USA model 07 F430 Frunk opens by the electric switch with the ignition off. It may be a Euro model modification.

Looking at an older thread regarding the ignition on or off for the frunk switch to function it seems Spiders need the ignition on and the coupe switch functions with the ignition off. Probably for security reasons.

On my 06 F430 I can open the frunk without the key in. For the fuel flap I need to have the ignition switched on.
