I bought 63805 a yellow euro car with black interior a year ago, and imported it into the USA from Canada . Sold as a 1988 model, with two mirrors, it has slight cracking right where the high mirror SHOULD be. Prior owner started doing a service and got totally carried away. Engines out, bumpers off, suspension completely dismantled. Almost a basket case. I'm going to get it done this winter.
Mine is 54753. Red/tan. 16000km. Now in Belgium. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
You can add my car to your list, too - it's a pre production unit. Nr. 53 855. Engine Nr. 14. Red / black. 56 Kilometers on the Clock. Used to be the Show car at the Geneva Auto Salon when the Testarossa was introduced. Great car - fun to drive!
Here is mine. 1986 Ferrari Testarossa red with tan interior. 63663 Owned for 10 years. Located in Virginia.
I thought I had added mine but no show in a search... 1986: 61655 Red / Tan, approx 9,800 miles, all original, car is located in Southern CA. I purchased in 2016 from Farland Classic Car restoration after recommissioning. I am the 2nd owner. Original owner in MA. I believe original owner passed away and Farland obtained car from his estate.
Hi there. I came across this page after reading the story of Valerio Viccei. He was an Italian armed robber who commited the UK's biggest robbery in 1987 when he held up the Knightsbridge Safe Deposit Centre. He lived a playboy lifestyle and was arrested in his Black 1986 Flying Mirror Testarossa reg no C432XRF. There are various pictures of this car on the web. It was sold at Blackbushe car auctions after his arrest but no sign of it since 1990. I did a basic HPI check on it and it showed the following Last V5: Unavailable Last keeper chg: 19/09/90 Former Keepers: 3 VIN ends: 64255 Scrapped: NO Imported: NO Exported: NO Plate chg: NO Mileage: No records So it matches up with 64255 on this list which is a Black 1986 UK car. I wonder if it still exists anywhere? It's not showing as being stolen, scrapped or exported. Viccei himself was killed in Italy in the early 2000's by the Police in a shoot out.
Hi OMG - I knew the story of VV and that he had a black Testarossa, but have been trying to find out which one for nearly 30 years. In the reconstruction of his robbery they used a D reg black Testarossa, not the actual one. Thank you so much for telling this story. Let me tell you the other half... I have tracked down a photo of pretty much every UK RHD Testarossa...you are right that C432XRF is a mono RHD Testarossa in black with black, and yes it is 64255. I took the photos below on 11th July 1990 at a dealer in London, who had the car for sale. There are two former UK mono black Testarossas in Thailand. I have identified one - I believe this is the other one. That would explain why it disappeared. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow! Well here are the other 2 photos of it!. That's amazing that it still exists! I thought it would have met an unpleasant end some years ago. The 2 photos I've attached show it with a smashed windscreen while it was being examined by Scenes of Crime Officers, then at ADT Auctions, which I later verified as BCA Blackbushe. Can you tell which site you used for this HPI check? Did you have to pay for it, or was it a free check? Would be great to find "unknown" cars ...
Send me your unknowns and I can send you the VINs. I have photos and previous regs of most of the UK RHD Testarossas, and some LHD for elimination purposes.
Thanks for the reply, Robert. In this case, I was mainly looking for a site with free lookups. Also to check some other Ferraris, like "B4HAR" (the Brunei 550 Spider). Oh well, maybe another time ;-)
Hi Robert, I now own 60395, first registered in the UK 01/12/1985. No record of it being black? Wondered where you got your info from. Mark
Hi Mark It was definitely black, though frustratingly I don’t have a photo of it in black. Original Maranello Concessionaires records confirm it and I have been contacted by a relative of the original owner who bought it from HROwen in black is trying to get me a photo of it. It was actually grey with mag, changed before manufacture to black with black and came with fitted luggage. I’m guessing you don’t have any original paperwork or servicebook etc showing the original colour isn’t black? PM me and can send you my email address. Robert
