Lowering my Pista

His first post on the board pretty much sums it up. He advises someone to keep his F430 because the transmission in the 458 is unreliable.

That's probably the single dumbest reason I have e er heard for not upgrading from a 430 to a 458.

Just goes to show that he knows very little and that he is a green horn.

My guess is that he is a new Porter acting like a tech, if he is with FoA that is.

Maybe heard about the greatness and uniqueness of the f430 gated transmission and wrongly compared it with DCT.

Indeed. My comments about giving him a chance to prove himself was something I meant. When I call someone out I want a fair fight so to speak. If someone calls me out I want the same chance too.

If you claim to be something and use that to tell others they are wrong, you better be ready to back it up. I even sent him a PM trying to give him a hand seeing why he was going about things wrong if he wants to help and be a respected member.

Rather than taking the chance to make it right, I got yet a B.S answer.

No more chances, and as long as he tries to pass himself off as a certified mechanic, he can do actual damage. And when he insults us here in the process, well, you'll get the horns.

I was at my dealer yesterday (ordered a Roma, EXCITED) and he said their techs lower on the stock suspension all the time (showed me multiple cars in the shop), reiterated that is the nature of coil over, to do so (as we know). They also install Novitec springs and spacers as well. He said, if you do not have a lifter, they can go 20mm without issue, no change in the ride or long term effects to the suspension or steering at all. The dealer will adjust my car to my liking when it shows up, to me this is good news as I really want to keep the stock setup.

There was a Pista in the shop with Novitec springs and spacers, an installations they did, the car was extremely low, to low for my personal liking. I know that a bunch of you guys want this stance and more performance form the suspension due to the more rigid springs therefore Novitec is a great option.

BTW there was an F8 spider set for delivery, I could put my whole fist in the rear wheel well WT???, it looked awful!

 

socal to az, your car does not look nearly as low as the Pista I saw at the shop yesterday sitting on Novitec springs, does Novitec have multiple options for height, different springs to chose from?

 

You can basically run Novi springs from stock height and about 45 mm down.

I do work at Ferrari of Atlanta and have never heard of this guy. Not one of us.

 

I doubt many believed he did.
