Hey guys. Do you think the F8 will come under £200k in a few years? I wanted a 458 but decided to hold off due to old tech and them being 10 years old. I had planned on getting a 3/5 year old 488 and getting a good incoel aftermarket system to bring the sound to life. Then I thought maybe a f8 would be under 200k by then. But unsure. Thanks in advance
No-one expected Leicester to win the Premier League a few years ago.......same crystal ball nonsense applies here when you think you can afford something just do it rather than always hanging on for something that might be a little better a lot further down the line (which usually translates as never)
Life is too short for guessing Get a good 488 now Sent from my SM-G9980 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
You’re concerned 458 is old tech so you’ll wait 2-3 years to get a car...meanwhile you are driving “zero tech.” I think you should wait, a Ferrari enthusiast wouldn’t ask this question.
UK market, ordinarily yes, but some more factors this time round. F8 production numbers and short production life, LB market introduction, big tech leap, overall acceptance. So hard to say. Only yesterday I was listening to a chap wittering on about how 964 prices had overtaken 993. I didn't see that happening.
Since you listed pounds, assume you are in the UK; Europe and U.S are impacted by different economies of scale. I would try to find out how many were imported to the Country in question. That will determine possible price points in the future influenced by supply/demand.
Is the UK not printing money with the fury of the US? We could see real inflation. Might as well drive it now, as your inflation hedge. [emoji16] Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Haha thanks guys. I can get the 458 or 88 in sept. I could get a f8 too but I’m saving for a second house in Spain and I need to put that first. My only concern with the 488 is the sound. Even with an £7000 exhaust system they sound like ass.
If your looking for street cred you shouldn’t be looking for a 458 Get a 488 now. I personally enjoy the sound. While not as much as my 812 but for a turbo v8 I think it sounds quiet satisfying. Seat of the pants difference from 488 to F8 is negligible. While from 458 to 488 is night and day. You only live once and it can be over any day. Do it now and enjoy the drive. All good choices regardless. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Street cred? I thought it was about driving pleasure, and not what some random kid on the street thinks about a car he has never driven. Unless you are in it for bragging rights and to show off by being loud, I don't get the "street cred" reference. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Do what i did and buy a nice spec one owner 6.5K miles 488GTB from a Ferrari main dealer. I had a 458 before which is a great car but now feels old compared to the 488. I had a long drive in an F8 and thought it was a brilliant car but the only discernible improvement over the 488 was the steering feel. The 488 is already bonkers fast as in faster than a new 992TTS..A 488 from a main dealer at under £160K is great value right now. I also think the 488 sounds much better than the F8 due to the GPFs. The only new supercar i'd buy now would be a Lambo Huracan Evo RWD at well under £200K for a well optioned example.
GBP 203476 list price in 2020....so yeh 200000 seems likely So you buying a second house in Spain and a Ferrari on finance ...what could possibly go wrong ? Dreamer! (Trance)
Normally I would agree with you but really the 458/488/F8 are fairly bullet proof. 15 would not scare me.
