1979 400GT Auto Chassis 27985

Chassis 27985 is now listed on Ebay with a Buy-It-Now of $47500 USD:

Interesting the car has California plates, but the auction indicates the location to be Oregon? Reading further it looks like the auction is by the owner's friend and so this may explain the location oddity.

I love this color combination!

There is a recent (2/14/2020) receipt for just under $30K USD for an engine and head rebuild. There is a comment that mentioned that the "work" done to the engine block was necessary. No new engine block available. This sounds a bit onerous and so I wonder what happened?

Ebay shows that the winning bid was $40500 USD:

Given the work and $ spent, I would say it was well bought if indeed it changes hands at this price. I say this, as I seem to recall that Ebay vehicle auctions are non binding.
