GTC4 Lusso Sub Woofer project

I have finally taken my own path to upgrading the subwoofer in my 2019 GTC4 Lusso. I am documenting the whole process on YouTube. Episode 1 is published.

So I have made progress. Finally found a way to get an 8” sub into my Lusso without loosing boot space. My friend at 12volt did a scan of the space and has mad a box by 3D printing. I will post complete video of final install but you can see my first video doing the scan.

It’s a good question, it seems to be fine for now. Maybe the industrial Velcro keeps it held.

Few reasons,
1) I did not want the whole car pulled apart and do major modifications that could affect warranty. I wanted minimal invasion on factory implementation. There are some speakers that need the whole dashboard to be removed. I think I would get paranoid if future issues occurred, not knowing if the removal and install of the vehicle interior was the cause or not.
2) I wanted to achieve a loudness with min distortion, this can be achieved by isolating signals. We did this and the current speakers were high enough quality after splitting signal. If I did not get the quality I needed I might have moved to changing speakers.
3) I am still not 100% sure if I am keeping the Lusso long term. I have a Taylor made 812 GTS on order still 1 year away and I have ordered JBL system in that, so my audio equipment may be redundant if I decide not to keep my Lusso. I am inclined to keep my Lusso though, and the sub install has made it a great enough sound that I don’t feel like I need to upgrade the other speakers.
