I potentially have an opportunity to purchase a very nice two owner 2002 360 with 6MT and 55k miles. Car has Tubi exhaust, aftermarket floating rotors by Giro Disc., Challenge Grill, Daytona seats, Shields on front fenders, gated shifter car cover with seat and steering covers. All services are up to date and the owner has all of the records and has had the car serviced at the local independent Ferrari mechanic, who also vouches for the car. This seems like the one to get as I plan to drive the car regularly. I don’t want to low ball him but also don’t want to overpay so I am looking for some guidance on what a fair value would be for this car. This would be my first Ferrari and is my first time posting here. Thanks in advance!

variators done? 80-90k. asking is up higher than that on most of the usual sites, and BAT is notorious for prices being higher than "market average" sell prices.

80-90? I wish but that seems a little high to me, with those miles and that color, I’d think you’d be in the 70s at best. I’ve seen similar cars sit for long periods of time in the 80’s, one on eBay now has been there for years it seems.

For reference, I bought my 360 in late 2016, 54k miles, gated, same color, lots of recent service...exhaust, challenge wheels...Paid $60k. I’d expect values have risen slightly since then but if they were worth 80-90 there would be a 599 in my garage.

I am not sure if the variators have been done or not but I will ask (and thanks for mentioning it!). I was thinking somewhere in the 60's or 70's but it is hard to find comparables for Modenas with 6MT with this many miles so that was why I posted this to see what others thought. When I was looking for one a few years ago it seemed like the prices for higher mileage 360's with 6MT were in the low to mid 60's but perhaps they have jumped up a little into the 70's-80's. Again, I just want to pay a fair price at market value; not overpay but also not low ball the guy either since he has obviously taken great care of this car for over 15 years.

A number starting with a 7 strikes me as a fair price. I think if this car is as well sorted as you describe, and you intend on driving it, you will feel like that price is an absolute steal vs the risk of him turning you down over 5-10k.

I think even a gated Modena with this range of miles and a few issues to sort out would command at least $60k. Then the cost to remedy and unknowns would likely push you past where you could acquire this gem for.

It’s well optioned, in great condition, is a killer color, and gated. Jump on it and don’t look back before someone else does!

There was a 55k mile 6-speed Modena sold on BaT for $70,500 in April 2020. Classic.com projects the average 6-speed Modena to sell for $91,933. https://www.classic.com/m/ferrari/360/modena/manual/ From what I've seen lately, it's hard to find a manual 360 for less than $80k, with many north of $100k.

If you plan to just drive the car for a long time and not keep it as "investment", higher mileage is a bonus, because you can negotiate a better price and keep driving it without too much worry about depreciation. Those cars easily go over 100k miles when maintained properly. I've been looking for such a car (and would gladly pay $70k+) but bought F1 in the end (which I will convert to gated at a later date). So offer $70k, buy at $75k or whatever and enjoy! Not many around, specially if this one is close by and you can actually see it/drive it. For any far away car you need to add about $2k for enclosed transport plus the flight/hotel/time to go and see if you don't like to gamble too much. The "professional" inspectors, dealerships, body shops etc you hire remotely to inspect can miss major problems like accident repaints or oil in coolant etc (ask me how I know).

I think 75k-80k is fair. Depending on the PPI and condition of the clutch, last major service, etc etc. If this was a F1 car I’d think it would go for around 65-70k as they aren’t demanding a premium while the gated cars are increasing in value, due to the F430 manuals going up.

Oh wow! I didn't realize he had sold it. Yes, he was from Richmond, VA but he used Exotic Coach Specialists in Raleigh for his service and I live in Chapel Hill. Terry from Exotic Coach Specialists linked us up last year. Last year, he said he was going to sell it sooner or later but wasn't in any hurry. I talked with him last year and then decided to wait since I had just bought new wheels for my 911. I decided to post my 911 for sale last week but I wanted to see what people thought the value was for that 360 before reaching out to him again. Well, I guess lesson learned and now I know what the value of that car was last April! I think this discussion has been very helpful for me with my search moving forward, and I appreciate all of the comments.

If all is good, I think mid 70s is a good price.

I think something in the high 70s to low 80s.

I know of 2 manual 360s that sold in the last 6 months. A fabulous one sold in the low-mid 90s. A very nice one sold in the very high 80s. Both had between 25-30K miles. Both sold almost immediately after being offered.

    Good luck.
