Interesting on how many of us tend to focus on very different details...it is all good, many different bites of the apple:).

First guess: look for a Citroen part. Dave Burnham is near you, isn't he?

Second guess: if you've got an industrial supply house near you, particularly one that specializes in bearings and seals for machinery, take it to them.
They should at least be able to identify it. That would give you a hint at least.

    Yes a transition period.
If you look at the cars in the #200-#250 range you see old style seats in various colors, but I do not always know if these are the original colors, so I can't say much about that.

Hi All knowledgeable people. I started pulling my Khamsin apart this weekend. I found an unexpected problem.

my passenger seat has no rise and fall mechanism.

It has a couple of bits of 1” tubing welded to the floor. Am I right in assuming that someone had a problem with the hydraulics in the past and replaced it with this??

Should both seats have rise and fall mechanism?

Nrxt question will be, how do I source a replacement!!

    thanks

    Hi Mark,

No need to throw away your car;-) it is perfectly normal!

ONLY the driver's seat has the lifting mechanism...but the passenger seat has the very nice footrest bar in compensation:). You do have that right? See bottom photo of left hand drive car in post 9229. Perfect for that glamorous leggy model to rest her Louboutin high heels on during dates:)

Ah OK perfect. Yes I have the footrest. Not sure I like the way the passenger seat bolts I though. It just uses thread cut into the 1” bar. Might look for a way to reinforce that.

    Hi Series1...

Along with italiancars recommendation of pulling the upper tank, I would also
recommend pulling the lower tank.. Have both inspected, repaired if necessary, and treated!
It is easier to do now, given all the work you are doing...

Both tanks will come out. The bottom tank has an old glass fibre repair so that definitely needs sorting.

A recommendation for a specialist repairer in the UK would be useful.

Seat bolt access was just sliding the seat to its extremes of travel. Then using an Allen key.

bottom tank drops out easily from underneath. Upper tank is a pain, interior needs to be removed. There is a small diameter hoseon the lower right that travels underneath the main hose through a small hole to the underside exterior, then over the exhaust through 2 larger holes where the fuel kine is wrapped in a heat shielded sleeve before connecting to the bottom tank.

BTW both tanks are available as new.

Your car is in Thoroughbred & Classic Cars of September 1991 (page 31), see below. It was for sale at Straight Eight in London.

Do you know who sells these? It would be better than having the old ones repaired

Does anyone know if #224 is in Switzerland?
I found this type certificate that shows that AM120*224* was used for the certification of the Khamsin in Switzerland on December 14, 1976: https://typenscheine.ch/en/Info/052111-MASERATIKHAMSINAM120

There is also a certificate for #390, maybe a new certification was necessary in 1982: https://typenscheine.ch/en/Info/052117-MASERATIAM120-KHAMSIN
#390 is in Switzerland I think, see photo below (from Facebook, Garage Quarta in Schlieren, 2019).

Great finds thank you for that!

-Regarding 224 Zero data but I know there is or was a K in Chiasso, also in Ticino (the Italian speaking part of Switzerland) that I have not been able to zero in on.

-To speak like the locals in Zurich Ja gaell that is 390 in your photo.

It sat for years at Auto salon Singen in nearby southern Germany, very much a Porsche and latest supercar type of place so they did not know what to do with it. When I visited in August 2009 they had it stored in a dark warehouse. It was on consignment by a Swiss I believe. See the slightly pushed in front bumper is still on but has been sorted, looks ok now. It still has the wooden wheel.

The on track photo is not by me, it predates all that and shows it with Swiss Bern Canton plates.

Good to see it out again!

    Hello AMLC

    About #390
yes I have inspected the car and know the then owner, it is in good condition, just the wrong colour for me

    About #224
I had nothing on this car; great find !!
Did not even know you can explore certificates like that.
Unfortunately I did not find any further info on K's in Ticino either except that one was for sale by Garage Paradiso AG on 28.09.1978
That was a 1975 car, but no info about colour or other details.

The "Typenscheine" are really interesting. It notes 2 active cars (both in Zurich) and 4 inactive. I know at least of 3 "active" ones in Switzerland, I don't trust these statistics too much. On the Quattroporte 107 Typenschin, it only shows three Quattroporte 107 active, I know that there are more around which are registered in Switzerland (it also mentions 39 "inactive"... of 49 imported when new altogether). Can anybody explain that?
