Hey guys. What is best to go for in terms of holding value for resale later down the line 2018 488 / 4000 miles £176,000 2018 488 / 4700 miles £178,000 + suspension lifter and diamond cut alloys. Both red with Creme, loads of carbon. Etc. Really unsure if it’s worth spending a few k more for the SL and forged wheels when it’s got 20% more miles. Any friendly advice will be helpful
Are you buying this car for you or for the next person? I'd say get what you want and not what you think will hold value. Also 4700 might be 20% more than 4000, but it's also only just 700 miles. If you put another 4000 miles on it now you're comparing 8700 to 8000. That's only a ~9% difference. Maybe I'm the weird newbie Ferrari owner, but that difference is so small I wouldn't even really worry about it. I put 1200 miles on my 458 the first month I had it.
There's virtually no difference between those cars. If both have forged wheels, that does not matter. The advantage of the lifter is that while having one is not a deal breaker for most who don't need it, not having it will be a deal breaker for those who think they need it. Other than that, there's hardly any difference in mileage between those cars. I'm quite sure you can try and make an offer of 175k on both cars. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
No. Very normal. And no, the weird part is to worry about 700 miles in such a new car. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
wow. In my head I was thinking 5000 vs 15000. 700 miles is a rounding error in my world. Go for the better spec.
Look under both cars . Cant tell you the number of 488 GTB's with lifter I have seen with massive scrapes under. 700 miles is nothing negotiate better. Enjoy the car and don't be concerned what it will be worth latter on. So dont be embarrassed get on your knees and look under the car. If i was a betting man ild bet the one with the lift has scrapes.
Because it might have belonged to someone like me Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I would pay more attention to the options that 700-miles. When you say "loads of carbon. Etc", have you literally gone through and compared the specs line by line? Depending on your level of familiarity with option pricing, a single option here and there can be a big deal. Also, what about the seats and amount of leather that has been added to the interior? Full door panels in crema, for example, indicate full leather option interior IIRC. Just a thought.
4000 miles vs 4700 miles? I don’t know what you are planning to do with the car but 700 miles is like a one day trip to the Nürburgring for me. Buy the car with the best history, service and specs.
