They can achieve large screens without bifurcating the cabin into two tiny claustrophobic pods. Real life proof: The front cabin of the GTC4 Lusso.

I don’t care for the Aston Martin driving experience. I also don’t care for their interior designs either. I don’t care for the Roma interior for that matter or the need for a huge touch screen.

I was hoping for a smaller lighter shorter and lower GT which perhaps had a more curvy and beautiful body. A Ferrari body shape not a Jaguar either ( Enzo thought the Jaguar was the most beautiful design he had ever seen) I thought the Roma was smaller than the 812 , but I guess it isn’t.

Of course, a mid rear V12, race car would be great but I thought Ferrari does that only every 10 years and only as an expensive limited edition available to a handful of people and by invitation only,

Ferro 458’s comment about the LussoGTC4 is right on target. I have one and absolutely love everything about it. And it’s faster than my 458.

And they did it without resorting to an iPad and they have a dedicated AC control, nice :)

Yes good example too but some might argue internally that is only possible with mid-engine architecture as on the SF90. The GTC4 Lusso is proof that you can have giant screen and open horizontal dimensionality even with a hulking engine up front and a robust drive shaft running through the cabin and connecting to the rear wheels. No excuses.

If the car is epic ... buyers would be agnostic about whether it has two tiny additional seats in back. If they’ve got the wheel base to spare ... then what’s the harm. I’m not a 2+2 seeking buyer either but I wouldn’t be put off by one in the GT category ... again ... if the over all package was extremely strong.

The option to chuck two small passengers or two very brief jaunt passengers or two canine passengers or just extra cargo ... into those extra rear seats ... isn’t a bad thing. As long as the styling and drivetrain are tremendous.

Remember ... the Porsche purists’ choice ... the 911 ... comes in a 2+2 configuration in all but their most hardcore sports versions.

My concern is that it would make the car quite a bit longer. The Roma gets away with it because it has a shorter front end and an engine that looks to sit further forward.
If you want to retain the front mid mounted set up we know from the 812 and F12, you would have to lengthen the wheel base a lot. If you don't, you would have to use the boot space, and thus raise the roof line. You essentially end up with a Lusso. The Lusso is what happens when you keep the engine in the same place but add space in the back. Granted that smaller 2+2 seating woul require less rear roof height, but to avoid a shooting brake look all while retaining some kind of boot space, would require lengthening the rear to keep the rear roof line slope as a berlinetta style. So all in all, it is not as,simple as just plopping in seats. The seats in the 812 is already at the rear wall, so the only way is to add wheelbase. That is a dealbreaker for me as I would not like the car to be that long. It's just not what a sports car is to me. A Lusso or Roma is a GT, an 812 is a front engined sports car. Two cometely different things.
