Hi, looking for a little advice, have a 2011 458, I get the typical beeps when I turn the key before start up as the car goes through its routine and then after starting the car and driving off I always get a further set of beeps (think it’s 3 or 5 beeps). Does anyone else get this and know what it is? No warning signs and car drives absolutely fine. Thanks for any insight.

Perhaps the noise the tracker makes to tell you you have forgotten your security FOB?

I have the same; seemingly random 'beeps'. No idea what they are; and I do leave the car in neutral. No idea what it is......................
I have other "alarms" during the start up process; apparently as my built in K40 initializes.

Thanks, always have fob with me so don’t think so, although start the car in garage with no satellite signal so perhaps it might be the tracker acquiring signal?.

Always. Park in garage so never start in gear. Does starting in gear generate some beeps in your experience?

Glad it’s not just mine then [emoji4] it is weird but the car goes like a dream so dont think it’s anything to worry about. What’s a K40?

Do you have the front-lift option? Could that be causing the beeps? It takes a few seconds to go up when you start the car, and a few seconds to go down after you shut off the engine.

K40 is a brand of radar detector +/- laser shifter.

Non-owner but pretty sure there's something in the owners manual (which contains some useful information) commenting about this and offering a beep if you turn off in neutral and then more when you turn on because "Never leave the vehicle with the gearbox in “N”. Always make sure that the letter “P” (Parking) appears on the gearbox display." Try page 57 approx

Thanks, I dug out the owners manual today (first day it’s not been raining to run to the garage!)
The engine start up section in my manual is around p44 so very close, I had a good read, thanks for the idea, and I wonder if the beeps which generally occur shortly after driving off are something to indicate that the ‘auto easy exit’ has changed back to auto - this might make sense and when roads improve slightly I’ll take the car out and start it but drive off in manual to see if this solves it. Not worried about it, just the beeps are a bit unnerving when you don’t know what they are for.
Thanks for the help and feedback [emoji4]

Thanks - good idea but I don’t have the lifter on mine. Think it might be something to do with ‘auto easy exit’ so am going to play about with that.
    Thanks for your help

Is it the parking sensors? Mine go off once in a while and when I check the sensors see that there was dirt on them.

Good idea but don’t think it is as they consistently go off shortly after driving away, happens every time so doubt it would be parking sensors. Thanks for the suggestion
