430 Scuderia Loud Rattle

    Dear all, my car makes this loud rattling noise that seems to come from the lower portion of passenger door. The noise appears only at speed above 120mph and it gets progressively louder with higher speed. Listen to the video. I would appreciate your help.

    My car has been at the ferrari service centre for 1 week and they havent been able to solve it. They hv removed the door panel, door sill, check front and rear inner cover (near tyre well), floor panel, battery compartment, foot rest etc etc.

    They said the last part that they will
    Remove and fix is the side skirt.

    any ideas wherelse to check?

    Does the sound disappear at 130 mph and above?

    If so, it's harmonic resonance. A part in the car begins to vibrate at only a specific speed when the resonance reaches maximum intensity at a certain frequency.

    Are you sure it is not the undertray- if you have bolts too long or missing washers it will not be pulled up tight and the airflow maybe making it flutter

    Maybe loose screens? But they would have found them....

    Follows the air currents. I also had a noise like this on my Scuderia, it was a loose screw by the side skirt. Good luck, to find something like this takes a lot of patience!

    Possibly a compromised fender liner? Second vote is under tray, but those seem so obvious the shop should have been able to find it.

    The two side air intake openings have protective grids, check these to see if they are still fixed correct (if not yet done).

    I also had a booming noise that started from 180 km / h. Very worrying! It was hard to tell where it was coming from. At first I thought it came from the underfloor paneling. Then it seemed to be coming from the right rear wheel arch. Nothing to be found. Then I opened the driver's side window a little and closed it again and ... that's it! Sometimes it can be easy.

    So it doesn’t happen on bumpy roads at lower speeds(?)

    Scuds are known for a rattle up above passenger dash area that comes and goes.

    My 430 has this as well. I spent a while packing foam in behind things under there yesterday. See what happens.
