    Hi,

Found an F12 that has been in an accident. 40k worth of damage. Some paint peeling on a bumper. I can't lay eyes on it locally. 17k miles.

Should I just run? Ask is 175k but this is in Canada. One in good shape goes for 215k here.

I think I already know to stay away after typing the post but figured I'd still ask.

As always, there’s a price where the “story cars” begin to make sense. Do you have pics? Paint and cosmetic damage is way less crucial than mechanical or structural damage.

If the price difference (vs a no-story car) is just the cost of the damage it does not make sense - there is really no incentive to cope with the story...

need to see some pics. i almost bought a wrecked 2014 f12 with 5500 miles on it for $145. I offered $140, hesitated at $145 and someone else bought it. a bit of a weird spec though. it also had over $80k of damage. I think $175k is a bit high for the one you are looking at

So for $215K you can buy a car with no story, or for $215K ($175 + $40) you can buy a car with a story. Hmmmm, let me think about that ........... :D

I would need a MUCH higher discount than that. I almost bought a no stories loaded F12 with 28k miles for 170k this summer.

I inquired about that white one in Montreal like 2 years ago. It was either sold or taken off market for like 6 months then came back been there ever since. I couldn't find the info but if I recall correctly the damage was enough that I said no way. Nice spec too, shame.

That's the one! Carfax says impact from another car 65k estimate 40k damage.

They also arent valuing my trades. Hmmm. I wonder if I could lowball. If its been there that long....

Indeed. Destroys the market value the more you enjoy them.

I would definitely stay away... If you can already see the paint is cracking, you will be in for an even bigger surprise after you buy the car.
