So a person can't be an idiot if he makes a lot of money? Really? That's absurd. The world is full of idiots making tons of money and also good/decent people making tons of money. One in no way confirms or denies the other. That said, I've never met Lewis Hamilton, so I can't fairly form an opinion of him. "Never judge a man until you've walked in his shoes." Difficult advice for me and most others to strictly adhere too, but on some level, it makes sense.
At least it´s useful to avoid this **** spreading to the whole F1 section. And hey, nothing better than the show of human misery.
Who knows what Mercedes will do in 2022. They may do as Ferrari did in 2007, sign a good driver (Kimi) and win the championship as Schumacher failed to do the previous 2 years.
I just hoping for some real competitive racing this season. Bring back the engines that sound like music.
Makes sense but there’s also this. Some people—supposedly reliable and in the know—have been posting on other forums about drastic staff cuts and burnouts (what—Toto wasn’t exaggerating?) at Merc. Not sure if within the team or only on the engine side. Maybe HAM not committing long term to see how this season pans out first. Some quotes from those forums: If this is true and RBR’s progress at the end of last year was real, we may have a battle for the championship this year.
I hope you're right! A real championship battle is long overdue and I'm sure every single F1 fan would like. Is the Honda +40 and Ferrari +30 for 2021? I do hope so. What is the rumour they're talking about HP wise with Mercedes? Andy Cowell having left Mercedes now might be more beneficial than I hoped much earlier on...
Yes, 2021. What that poster is saying is that there are stories about Ferrari picking up 30 hp (we’ve read that on this board) and apparently the rumor is that Honda, with what is supposed to be their 2022 engine fast-tracked to 2021, is picking up 40 hp. We’ve read nothing about Merc gains so he’s questioning whether their engine development program has suffered because of all the loss of personnel. We could only hope, ha-ha.
Fingers crossed! I've read that Honda has a new coating developed (announced last year) and seemingly last year was a ''test phaze'', and now without lockdowns and more data, they feel they can push engine performance significantly. Ferrari allegedly also doing similar but with their own development. Could be why Red Bull is pushing for an engine freeze 2022?
Compared to most participants on this site i imagine.. In any case, as my grandfather used to say, "You’re always someone’s poor"
Mercedes Insider Says ‘Many People Owe Lewis An Apology For Questioning Him’ A Mercedes source has suggested Sir Lewis Hamilton was mistreated by some F1 fans, pundits and the media amid his contract saga. http://www.gptoday.com/full_story/view/756763/Mercedes_Insider_Says_Many_People_Owe_Lewis_An_Apology_For_Questioning_Him/
Indeed. They dragged it out themselves. 7x WDC for the ultra dominant team and they didn't have a driver lined up to drive the fastest car on track. And they find it odd they're open to speculation....? Cry me a river indeed.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/celebrities/2020/12/31/lewis-hamilton-knighted-part-queen-elizabeth-iis-year-end-list/4097528001/ Apparently he has. I'm full ROTFLMAO right now, at the irony of her bestowing the honor remotely, because he's avoiding paying his taxes to the country bestowing the honor. Pfft. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
Poor crapilton...that covid story didn't work very well for him, all of the sudden his achievements were no longer extraordinary ,not when they put a backmarker on his seat and he blows everyone else away without any experience of the car and without even fitting properly inside it....I guess the little mermaid stock took a serious downfal!
Mate, Some messages are only there to elicit reactions. The aim is to revel in indignant reactions. Don't waste your time with this.
I love billy aka William though great f1 knowledge. That being said I don’t think Hamilton is owed any apologies. He and his teams handle contracts talks so clearly his price was too steep for 5 years he wanted. Sir Hamilton probably makes a lot il endorsements too (see Michael Schumacher still now) so if he truly wanted that longer contract then this could have been done... Now was he asking his market value or was he too greedy that’s a question. I think we can all agree that it’s likely that with or without Hamilton Mercedes will have the wdc this year. We discussed this ad nauseam. It doesn’t take away Hamilton’s talent I don’t think but his leverage ? A little bit surely Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
