My dash lights are intermittent along with usual side markers and license plate lights.
I am going to replace the whole license plate units they are beyond repair with rust and corrosion.
The connectors themselves look pretty crappy too. How should I go about this? Cut them off and replace? Is there a way to clean these? What should I do?

If you push on the wire will the connection come out of the insulator. If not then cut it off and fit new ones. Buy i good set of crimping pliers , not the cheap rubbish.

You could spray them with DeToxiit if you like. Might help.
Best way is to replace the connectors.

You can enter a very small screwdriver on the front side of this plastic insulation (where that little insert is visible) and push the metal connector out.

I think the problem turned out to be a relay on the fuse board. I took it out and jiggled it a little then put it back and lights all work now. I ordered a new relay and have it on standby.

DeTioxit spray is also what I use on electrical connections. The restoration guys turned me on to it. Works great on the boat’s oxidized connections as well.

DeOxIt D-5 is what is on the can. Here in the trailer park it’s called detoxit.
