I just posted a thread re. the horn relay for my 1979 GTB. After looking in my owners manual I noticed something really strange.

My owners manual, white with 308 GTB and 308 GTS vertically on the left side of the cover and the Prancing Horse on the right, does not reference what year model the book is for, or if it if for the US version.

While looking inside, page two, I see Euro versions of the GTB/GTS. I see pictures showing two distributors (a US car), pictures of the rear of the car showing the 208 single exhaust system, pictures showing a '76-'78 single strut holding the rear deck lid up, a zippered spare tire cover, and a non zippered spare tire holder, and the wiring diagram for the car shows a single distributor!

It also shows pictures with the "space saver" type spare and tools/jack being located in the spare tire, and it shows pictures of the "normal" 14' spare.

My owners warranty book specifically says 1979 Models, and the Sales and Service Org. manual says 1979-80 on it.

Can any body help me with what is correct for a '79 U.S. car?

And, in regards to the horn relay, I found it in the wiring diagram, but it isn't shown on the fuse panel relay diagram! I still need help there.

I've owned this thing since 1993 and I'm just now discovering this!

Inside/outside back cover is a code which gives a hint as to the date eg 155/78 (non-US) or 150/78 (USA) BUT remember Ferrari do not indulge the US market by producing a new book for every model year

    Thanks so much Steve!
I must have the Euro version since it doesn't say North American Version, nor does it have the print numbers inside the back cover for some reason

The print number is sometimes on the inside of the front cover, on the title page, on the page before the back cover, etc. -- have a look both near the front and the back (although you could have some outlaw reprint).

My book doesn't have "page 2" which states the US version..so I guess it's the Euro book. Don't know why it's in the car but oh well!

Any idea of where relay #11 is located? It's the horn relay noted in the wiring diagram but it's not noted Euro or US in the relay fuse panel picture.

See pages 109 and 110 in the 150/78 OM -- Relay L is the horn relay. (It is a little annoying that things shown on the schematic have other names elsewhere.)

Again, thanks! I just figured that out...instead of just "Horn relay" it has to be Warning horn...gotta love it

I think a friend can help if you want either an original 150/78 or the official reprint - no idea what the going rate is for these however send pm if interested
