    That would be right. I date most of the races I went to by the car I drove to get there, and recall I drove this, GASP, red mustang II to that one, and then slept in the back at the track. :D

    Peter switched over the the BMW 3.0 CSL for 1976.

    He won at the 24 Hours of Daytona with John Fitzpatrick and Brian Redman
    as team mates in the 3.0 CSL.

    I saw him drive a lot of stuff from 914/6 to RSR to 917/10 CanAm. Very few were faster or smoother. His engine builder, Hans Mandt, rebuilt the motor in my first 2.7 Carrera RS. He had a few tales about what it was like to work for Peter Perfect.

    Aaahhh, yesssss. The year of the fuel "crisis". (No, not that one.....the boring 3 hour Sunday morning wait (for systems cleaning and fresh, unwatered, Union 76 fuel trucked in from Jacksonville) one. :))
