I am planning a recertification at the factory, or rather through the Ferrari Classiche department. The car now retains #33007, but restamped in a different location. This was done recently by the Dutch DOT. Obviously I would like it ALL restored back to original, and I think Maranello is the place to be...
Out of my memory (and things might have changed since) I've seen a picture of stolen car with the original chassis number re-stamped by the factory (a vetroresina, I seem to recall): they have (or had?) their own way of doing it, on the chassis bar in the engine compartment: they fix a small metal plate above the original-restamped vin, with two small rivets, carrying the right chassis number; and that shows the car has been stolen and recovered, and its chassis number approved by the factory. At least that's how they did it in the past. Rgds
Great you finally have your car back! Just out of curiosity, which number was stamped in it when it was offered for sale? Surely some similar number of number range? And is the restamping by the RDW the reason you have a '1' on the license plate?
Congratulations on this wonderful happy end story. Im very happy for you.
