If you get that Blue Le mans, you are set. Is it a 95?

If you are buying to enjoy you're fine. If as an investment, yes. ;)

Funny you mention all those cars...I've either owned or experienced all of them. I own a 360 CS as well right now. I could go buy a new F8 if I cared...but of all cars I've ever owned the 355 is the one I always come back to and wishing I still had. I'm not the only one like this...

TDF manuals come up. I missed one a few months back out of Japan...however it didn't have sport seats so I was on the fence anyway.

I'll take it to the grave. Just want one nice 355 for long long term ownership.

I'm pretty confident in 10 years they'll be double from where they're at now anyway. Not that I care...speculating on cars isn't how I make a living.

I'm going to assume most in the U.S aren't trying to buy an international car unless extremely desperate and willing to go through the added paperwork and costs. That's more $$$. Options for a manual Berlinetta (Ron's request) is slim to none here.

Yes, its more difficult, more expensive, and youll never be able to sell it. I dont mind losing a bit on resale, but paying more AND losing more? Thats difficult. I've been offered a 130k mile, red berlinetta for $60k. The fact I'm even considering that is bonkers. I almost just want to pick up an auto f430 and call it done. Havent owned an automatic in 30 years.

It's a global market now. Local cars will always command a premium but does it really matter if you're enjoying what is the exact same car a lot sooner?

Ferrari guys are the only ones that seem to care. The Porsche market doesn't seem to give a crap where the car is from as long as it is presented properly and has some history.

Sometimes I think stuff like this is a self fulfilling prophecy.

I dont care where its from, but I'd avoid one because it would kill me on resale since other people care. I wonder how many people actually care vs how many people are just worried about resale. Thankfully it seems like the ferrari stereotypes have faded with time. 20 years ago if you did your own work on the car it was pretty much rendered unsellable. Now people are becoming a lot more reasonable.

I couldn't care less where the car originated from. Especially considering 95% of the 355's sold in North America are boring spec cars :D

I feel Canadians have a different perspective as you can sell a car in your market. Americans aren't at that stage with this car yet. I agree on the specs. All the really cool specs are more often seen outside of the U.S.

Its honestly very tempting. It looks better than most 30k cars. I'm not sure if thats because it was obsessively taken care of or because unplugging the odometer is more common than most people think, but i would never have guessed it had 130k. I'm still deciding on whether $60k is a safe buy or not. It needs a major service asap, so I'd have to buy it and immediately take the engine out.

Model year? Red Berlinetta with what interior? If no major accidents, I'd grab it at $50k. $60k maybe if it has desirable after-market parts (ex tubi headers, Capristo exhaust, etc.)

My Exige had 100k mi on it, but it was cleaner than all of the cars on the market and buyer paid full asking and bugged me to sell. But I'm like a unique crazy semi OCD owner.

Its a 1994, black interior, very clean carfax, capristo stage 3.

It was apparently owned by a 90 year old man who spent all of his spare time keeping up with it. The current owner has had it for 6 years and only put 400 miles on it in that time, which causes concern about some of the rubber going brittle or moving parts drying up over that time. It isnt listed publicly yet, its being offered to me by someone I've bought from before, but if I decline it will be on the market by the end of the month.

I totally get it, too. I've probably spent 2x the cost of my 1997 miata maintaining it. Its the favorite of my cars and I take pride in it looking like a museum piece despite having 150k miles.

94? What country are you in? The U.S market starts at 95. The engine mileage is in unheard of territory so you might have to factor in a possible engine rebuild. I don't know what engine rebuilds go for, but I would assume $20-30k. I would throw out any chance of significant asset appreciation with such high mileage.

I'm in the US. I'll have to look at the carfax again, but its definitely a LHD car that was originally sold in the US. I've looked at so many of these I could be getting the year mixed up with another.

I have bought and sold 4 F355’s since 2017. Mostly RC - just learned that, LOL.

1996 GTS Gated. FChat member. Fully sorted mechanicals, with head work done, headers, capristo, radiators done, 34k mile at purchase. I upgraded audio to what I wanted, new tires, fixed ABS issue, gauges, stickies decent. Really should have never sold it, but I had an F1 RC GTS and figured I was fine with it.

1999 GTS F1 2 owner car. Nice factory options 33k miles as well. Now for sale at Blackhorse. I did full key rebuild rebuild and made it perfect. Best driving car. I daily’d it weeks at a time in Dallas. Bought and sold for same money, less shipping. Decided to use money for other things.

1999 GTB - rare spec car. 8500 miles. Fully sorted, pristine, museum car that sat too much. Had to do steering rack. New tires, quite a bit of detailing and full sticky done by Dave. Truly spectacular. Made money, sold for $138k Sep 2019. pretty sure the billionaire that bought would not sell and is part of his large collection. Car is easily $165K today and maybe more.

1998 GTS F1. Flipped it. Bought from Ferrari dealer needing service, they wholesaled it. Bought right, quick flip. Nice RC car. Red Stitched seats, uprated brakes, full books. Two owners. Right place at right time.

I have wanted a 355 since they came out. Never thought I could afford them. Ended up owning 5 in the last 4 years. The GTB I just bought will not be sold unless I can double my money, so I think I have 10 years of good ownership. It needs a service, but otherwise great spec, upgrades 2.7 95, which is all I wanted. Hopefully I can keep making money to enjoy and hold it. 355’s sound glorious, have a great look and a real “soul.” The shifter is perfection.

It could be a 1994 build date but likely a 1995 MY car in the US. So it would be a very early build.

My first 355 had 72k miles when I sold it. Besides paint chips on the nose you would've never guessed it was that high.

So almost 2 years ago you sold an 8500mi Berlinetta for $138k USD...and people are questioning if there's a market for a $200k GTB today almost 2 years later with everything that's going on in the world.

Personally I believe they're already exchanging hands for the $200k mark they're likely just not advertised.

It was advertised by a small national exotic car dealer here in Dallas, that I have a relationship with. We basically hand sold it to people wanting the best of best no matter the car. They started their acquisitions in 2019. Filling up a warehouse full of low mile desirable cars. They must know something we don’t, LOL.

IMO it's more than 100k worth of car comparatively. It's much more beautiful than a Gallardo, (in my opinion). Love a gated V10 but the car just isn't attractive to me. Diablo, much better and Countach better yet but now we are talking real money :Dt

Manual 360 I think would be a great car, but I don't find it as attractive as an F355. Wouldn't personally crave any sort of 430 as it seems to have lost the great sound the 5 valve engines had and even less attractive than the 360.

That being said, all great cars and wouldn't kick any of them out of bed but if my 355 was hit by a train tomorrow, it would be replaced with another 355 if I was fortunate enough to find one with the specs I require.

Just think of 355's as Bitcoins, but real :).

We all know of, and might have forgotten, Enthropy's 99 manual blue Berlinetta with 4k mi exchanged hands for $210k... like what? 5 years ago? Nice clean museum car, but I still prefer my 95 MY over it. I think that car would get right around $200k if on BAT today.
