I believe tesla is doing that. It's going to go full circle. Your car can do it with or without you... So it might as well do it without you so... You might as well not own it because we'll... Cars have been going this fast without you for a very long time. So let's just do nothing.
Where does it stop. I believe there is a thing called character, passion, charisma etc Sorry for getting off track in this thread.
Ended up getting a last minute allocation from Beverly Hills Mclaren for one, should be here in June-July timeframe I was told. Here is the spec sheet I ordered for it. $408k sticker, main highlights I got were Tokyo Cyan paint, Senna seats, double glazed engine window. Congrats!!! I think that is a bargain for the performance of the car. Possibly the last of its kind too.
And you would be sadly mistaken I’ve owned not one but 2, 9 seconds supras and several 10 seconds cars all over 700hp. So you can miss me with your assumptions. And as I said most track are not slippery at all.
Then you never ran them down the track. I've never met anyone who has ever run 9s or 10s that had never complained about ****ty track prep. Especially if you owned supras which is rear tire limited and get after it more on the big end. I'm sorry buddy you may have owner 9 second cars. But based on what your saying you never piloted it to a 9 second run at the track... Also you never mentioned an NHRA license which you would have needed as well.
well seeing that I’m never putting a cage in my street car and o hate NHTA tracks that why I never mentioned it. And maybe just maybe I’m one of those racers who don’t ***** about track conditions. I run at track like no Problem Raceway and GulfPort. Just leave it alone my brother I’m 39 years old and have been drag racing sense I was 15 and I stand on what I say most tracks are preppy just fine most drag racers just complain to much.
So you state... You don't have a cage so your car wouldn't be compliant with a 9 second run... Let alone a chute... Or the NHRA license. So you would fail tech which means you have no experience running those cars with that level of power down a strip. So I want to be clear: 1. I don't have a problem with you 2. I don't have a problem with not wanting a cage 3. I don't have a problem with you not liking NHRA tracks. What I do have a problem with is someone trying to correct me who has zero experience running cars down the drag strip in the 9 second bracket and telling me I'm wrong multiple times... When I have lots of experience with it. I have done tons and tons of street racing and this kind of loose language flys on the street when you are talking smack but when you start talking to those that have lots of personal experience I'd do more listening than insisting those other people are wrong. The fact of the matter is tracks suck unless they are prepped and if you have a car with a lot of power running in the 10s or faster. Hell the 11s or faster... Track prep past the 60 foot is still crucial.
So got my 765 delivered about three weeks ago, honestly I can't think of a better overall supercar money can buy at any price point. There is no Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, anything that touches it. It is INCREDIBLE, nothing else to describe it. Best car I have ever driven or owned hands down. This should have been a $700k-$800k+ car brand new, and the used market is showing that on these things, going for crazy prices right now. The color of mine is called Tokyo Cyan. #728. The best part about all of it? No hybrid or electric powertrain. I'm frankly stunned by how quick the 765 is. But it's more than just the speed. A car can be fast be feel clinical. The 765 has more feel to it than any modern car I've ever driven. Even at low speeds. Quickest car on the road AND the most fun. It's revelatory.
That is a seriously looking cool car. The color contrasts throughout are amazing between interior, belts and paint. Congrats.
Some pics after a wash. I’d like to have a professional do a shoot and try and capture the detail in the paint. Whats your altitude you are running at? The numbers should be faster than this. Brooks from Dragtimes runs his at sea level in Florida and is consistently running 9.3-9.4. Are you running it in dynamic mode on the handling and track for the powertrain settings?
His numbers are similar to mine on the street. His 9.3/4's are done at a prepped drag strip. Look at my 60 ft time, it's not great. I think for a RWD car such as this 9.7 will be about the cars limit on the street without a tire swap. I'm finding it hard to get 0-60 mph below 2.7 seconds (no rollout). My settings I've been using are handling: sport + ESC DYN and powertrain: Track. Aero off. My best 60-130 time is 4.65 seconds but I'm taking the launch out of the equation in that instance. 4.65 is quicker than Brooks.
That is my mistake, I thought your times were on the drag strip not on the street, for the street those are great numbers!!
Nope, just a deserted stretch of road at 5:30 am. Tire temp is the big issue. At the strip those are sub 9.5 second runs.
Best ever 100-150 mph this morning. 60-150 mph in 6.98 seconds! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
