I've searched here and on the web about a mount for my v1 on the 458's mirror. Blendmount supposedly has one that works but they don't even list ferrari on the website and there have been mixed responses about whether it works or not. Does anyone have a solution they know works? Did you hardwire through the overhead dome light control?

    Thanks - Eric

PS - how do you get the little tag in front of a thread saying what model this is referring to?

I had my radar detector mounted on my rear view mirror. It worked well until I took a hard dip while driving and the mirror fell off the windshield with the radar detector. I now have it mounted on the windshield with the suction cup mount. I won't be attaching it back to the rear view mirror any time soon.

I hardwired the detector to the fusebox (drivers side) using a piggyback on a switched circuit. It was fairly easy and took less than an hour (which included removing and reinstalling trim panels).

Ditto above for all my cars. Blend mount was too massive and obvious.

I gave up on suction cups, they give way after a while. Ive started using a permanent windshield mount for my V1G2 for my other cars (458 has a built-in)

On my 430 I did things differently. I don't like a detector on the windshield, so I attached it to the window between the cabin and engine compartment. Works just as well if you give it a clean view (and you don't have a spider). If my 458 didn't already have a built-in detector, i would have done this to the 458.

I have a V1 Gen 1 mounted on the mirror of my F8. Automods of Sarasota made it because he was unhappy with how it looked with the 2 suction cups (which is how I had it on my 458). By the way, the mirror also fell off the windshield on my 458.
