Is there a weight difference between the Superformance wheels vs. the OEM QV wheels?

I purchased a set of SF repros and my set was very hard to get balanced by the two different tire shops. Cosmetically they are nice but but I'm not impressed by the fact that they were so difficult to balance.

Guys there are dozen's of threads on the Superformance 16" wheels just a basic search away. Every conceivable question has been asked and answered many times.

Caution: If you take the time to read these threads and you start off with a fresh timing belt service, you will likely need another one by the time you are done :D

This is not the first time I heard something like this about these wheels, in fact one of the fellow I know who bought a set of the same wheels said three of them were not perfectly round.

Interesting. I feel fortunate, as mine run true and straight. I'm often in the 100 mph + zone with no issues. A recent 4 wheel alignment, steering box rebuild and new suspension bushings make me feel confident also.

Is that because it will take me three years or five years to read it all?

For sure I've received various quality levels when buying parts from Superformance and for sure I've received some items I've been less than satisfied with. But one thing that I've always been really impressed with is their willingness to make it right. If one of their wheels wouldn't balance you surely should have complained and have them send you a replacement.

There is no magic. Their prices are very competitive for the low volumes and the big range of parts. I have had mostly good parts and very good attitude when I’ve not been satisfied. I’ve had some parts made and even with no overheads, no warranty, slow service etc. I barely cover costs so I take my hat off to them.

I did complain and no offer to correct. I also had issue with some springs that I purchased from SF and no offer to correct. My other purchasing experiences with have been good but as the old saying goes” you get what you pay for”.
